How do we stop it??
>>
maybe stop being a woman who cares about the billboard charts or the type of music that ends up on it

Being anti AI is luddism. Allow tech to bring us to cyberpunk valhalla

They'll be coming for your underground artists too anon. We have to stop it before it's too late
>>
Who fucking cares? Chart music as an art form is over and has been for at least 10 years and shows no sign of improving. Let it happen.
>>
>>128345308
there is no underground
rock is dead
rap is dying
mainstream music is at a complete nadir of benson boon and sabrina carpenter or garbage pop country.
music critics are irrlvant and the last thing they did of note was help infect the world with the poptimist mind virus

mainstream music in 2025 is so bland, nothing new is brought to the table, its either pop sluts larping as maddona for the thousandth time, or mumbling rap niggggers.

you could not think of a better environment for an AI music take over.

Stop listening to spotify playlists like a pleb. Streamcucks, as always, are responsible for this new horror. Buy some HDDs and host your own media library like an adult

>How do we stop it?
dont listen to it
while I understand the distaste, in practical terms theres no difference to me between AI slop and Taylor Swift. both are just artless pap shat out for purely commercial reasons. Im not going to listen to either.
>>128345427
also this, and not just for this reason. curate your own experience, whether thats in music or any other art form or cultural medium.

How can it chart? Who's listening to it? It's the labels/creators pushing it
>>
if i'm not allowed to say beethoven is better than beyonce because music is a totally subjective and arbitrary social construct then i don't see why we should be mad about AI music. if people like it, it's good, simple as

The charts are basically fake nowadays. Streaming sites for a long time weighed free streams the same as they did ones for premium tiers, which incentivizes botfarms and fan-driven streaming fraud. They could greatly reduce the problem by making premium users streams weigh far more, which is to some extent what's already happening, but not nearly to the level it should. "Free" streams should weigh orders of magnitude less than premiums to stop botfarming.

Earlier AI Examples: In 2023, Trump The Don — a parody AI project created by the rapper Hi-Rez — reached No. 5 on both the Rap Digital Song Sales and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales charts, and hit No. 45 on Digital Song Sales, with “First Day Out.” The song used AI-filtering technology to mimic Donald Trump’s voice to make it sound like he was rapping. It was released after his Fulton County arrest and subsequent viral mugshot, and received a boost in attention from several right-wing pundits. That same month, BOI WHAT debuted at No. 14 on Hot Hard Rock Songs with “PLAN Z.” The artist creates music inspired by the Nickelodeon show Spongebob Squarepants. “PLAN Z” uses AI-filtering tools to mimic the voice of the character Plankton.

we don't. and so what.

It's trite to say that the music industry has, for the last 30 years, added so much autotune, pitch correction / rhythm correction and other digital trickery to make the artists sound "better" than they actually do, along with target market-driven songwriting and production, is AI really that big of a leap, especially in the disposable pop and rock mainstream? No. It isn't.

And outside the industry, people will keep playing real instruments and making real music and that'll be fine.

AI isn't gonna significantly change shit in music.

Two things that I'm not right now: AI generated and charting.

How do you retards not get spotify doesn't have to revolve around fukkking playlists? You can listen to any fukking album on there that you want whenever and as many times as you wish. I've been using spotify for years and I've NEVER listened to nor used a SINGLE playlist. Sheltered retards. And yes, I'm aware most lunatics who use it do use playlists, but that's because most people are absolute idiots, not because of spotify. It's what you do with it and how you use it.
