>Egaheer
Loved the melodies, strangely reminded me of The Doors, but can't explain why

>Tardigrada
Solid atmoshit

>Ordo Draconis
Soundtrack for fighting Dragons, borderline losing, but still distinct black metal at it's core. Too epic for my liking

>Fimbul
Nice garbarge mix, putting the guitar in the background and the drums in the foreground is definitely an interesting choice. Very comfy.

>favorite discoveries
Lascowiec, Blutraum, Quebec Black Metal in general

>remained true
Yes, easily.

Not on this list, and not really a discovery, but some anon recommended Nehemah a few days ago and I listened to more than the one song I already knew. Great band.

Vothana, I had heard of him for a long time but thought it was memeshit, it may be but it's damn good Black Metal. Then probably the Ildra album I was rec'd. Kaevum's Kultur, as I had listened to Natur and the Kosmos Erwache demo comp a lot years ago and liked them; will likely be listening to Ultra today. Also Bilskirnir, I had listened to him years ago but it has clicked a lot more now. I've enjoyed most new (to me) stuff that I've listened to, and loved all the classics that I've been enjoying after not so much Black Metal in recent times.
>have you remained true?

This is true. The radio has been on in the car as she didn't want to hear Black Metal and I wouldn't play anything else, and told her she couldn't play anything with intention. The radio was out of either of our control so it doesn't count as straying.

Anyone that makes Black Metal, what do you use for drums? Plugins etc. I'd like a real drum machine but those are expensive. I have my PC, guitar, amp, a Midi keyboard for synths, and a USB audio interface + microphone for it.

I disagree, I think real drums are often better, but certain cases I think drum machines are more fitting. Obviously if I could play drums or had a friend who could I would use that, but I don't, so I have to work with what I have.

I ignored them for years because their image is lame and hipsterish, and I wasn't a fan of Sunbather. But ultimately I love Black Metal and I love shoegaze like Slowdive and MBV, and on this latest album they meld the two genres to great effect. Despite the aesthetics; sonically it contains a lot of Black Metal and it shouldn't be ignored just because of the cover and the way the band dresses.

I am anti "first wave" even existing as a thing, it's all thrash which is only related to BM as an influence of the artists. However, Masters Hammer honestly managed somehow to make almost actual Black Metal separate from the Norwegian scene, they're very underrated too.

A lot of newfags write off bands like Master's Hammer, Root and Mortuary Drape because they 'started in the 80s' (read: never looked like a twink they would want to have sex with) despite the fact that these bands were creating their own versions of the genre, almost totally separate from the Scandis.

Genres are a label for a collection of subjective descriptors.
>You can't call synthpop death metal
No one is saying that you colossal retard. You're just another fucking autistic midwit upset that a genre exists that you don't agree with.
>>
>>128381559
Thanks for the compliment. Dunno about 'oddly' high IQ. I'd like to think I'm high IQ all of the time.
>>128381577
Sure, everybody loves abit of Twisted Sister at times. Euronymous wore a crop top even.

Euronymous was gay and a communist

Will check it out. For whatever it's worth, I've largely enjoyed everything I've heard this month, Utuk Xul and below where it starts to get mid for me on my chart.

Glad you liked Der Tod. In terms of Absurd adjacent projects, also check out the Wolfsmond album on my chart. Less triumphant, but almost better imo.

Euronymous was more black metal than Kristian will ever be.
>>
Kristian doesn't even like metal, let alone black metal. His latest album is AI, and it's nowhere near as good as mine. I explore 90s Norweigian Black Metal in my latest release. Kristian explores sub-standard Skyrim music, when he fled from his country and is living in France as a refugee. Trve facts btw. Also hate the fact he's a convicted murderer, and my squrriel song has a message about that :)
>>
>>128381719
Not difficult considering Varg never was a metalhead.
>>
>>128380969
Shadows of the Damned was pretty good.
>>
>>128381736
>Kristian doesn't even like metal, let alone black metal.
yet he released new black metal tracks within the past year so his words aren't really worth trusting
>>
>>128381901
Isn't it all AI? I could handle the murder and racism but producing AI slop is where I draw the line with Varg.
>>
>>128381901
100%. Something fucky about the whole Vikernes thing, and it goes back to him being in Iraq.
>>
>>128381943
i don't think the "Burzum (NEW)" ones are AI
>>
>>128381943
Only the recent AI album is. Half of the Burzum (NEW) tracks are metal.
>>
All the good people die young. To me, Euronymous was a good person. Dead was a good person. Sure, they were misanthropists, but nothing wrong with that. Society caused that behaviour.

Dauðafærð, QPaST, Vargrstrike, Non Metuit Mortem (though a lot of those songs are on other NoN releases I already heard), Hammer, TRoB
I also like Nightside more than I used to for some reason. Anthems and IX are still good but can get a little in your face with the prog/symphonic elements.
>have you remained true?
Unless you want to nitpick Deathcrush or Dethrone the Son of God, yes.

dead is probably the most overrated from the norway scene. was on one live album and that's it.
>>
>>128378767
I've been sleeping on Törr perhaps too long, I'll give them a closer listening to. How is later-day Master's Hammer? Jilemnisce is absolutely superb (one of the best bm albums I've ever heard) and I plan to spin them a lot this November. I've figured they would've branched into some new direction after their crazy industro-experimental third album.

His vocals were awesome. The rehearsal stuff with Euronymous was great also. Nothing compares to their sound.

>>
>>128382049
The initial comeback album Mantras is a little iffy, but Vracejte Konve Na Místo and Vagus Vetus are beyond excellent-Vracejte I'd put on par with their first two albums. I haven't heard anything beyond those two yet, but I plan on rectifying that this month (except for the album coming out this year, which I think is supposed to be a disco album?)

That dude has like half a dozen projects from straight blue grass to bm. They’re all fun. Don’t listen to pick related, it’s too sludge and you’ll lose.

Also Walknut album posted here in one of the earlier threads. I used to blast it whilst playing old school DayZ. One of the best BM albums I think. All killer no filler.

This is also an overlooked album. Most summoning fans with either overlook this album or disregard it altogether due to its song structure. The songs on this album are shorter and more concise than typical summoning songs, which the fans don't like, but I do. Flammifer,Old Mornings Dawn, and Caradhras are among my favorite summoning songs.
