This is my favorite combination so far. The sansamp has better control of the tone rather than the odb3. If i want some fuzz I can get it from the big muff. Since I'm going to for sludge sounds, definitely don't need an OC5 for now.

That video of the tech trying out for EVH kind of opened my eyes to the intonation and setup business. He said he was guessing how the guitar should be adjusted because of where and what kind of playing EVH used. Now whenever I tune and adjust a guitar, I expect that it's only going to be optimal in certain sections of the neck. A better setup or guitar might be near perfect full length, but I have to assume if I'm hammering the strings or changing positions by a wide range that I'm going to have to compensate.

If you want a great fender styled guitar with more modern specs you would probably go Schecter, Charvel, Suhr, or MIJ Yamaha's before looking toward G&L.
