I wish I was some tech nerd who works from home in front of a computer so I could play guitar all day instead of working in a trade and not playing guitar all day. I’ve got to modify and cutout an old guy’s countertops from his 60ish year old counters so maybe I can turn the counter scraps into a guitar body and sell it as “vintage aged barnfind relic” to some broccoli haired goober online

It’s made in Indonesia, is missing the vibrato (which is probably a good thing on a glorified Squier). You honestly would get as good of a guitar with the $200 Sonic Mustang, I’m not exaggerating. If I was you I would save up for Vintera II Mustang, I own a few Vinteras and the Mustang is by far the nicest. Vintera II or look for a lightly used MIJ Mustang or P90 Mustang. I’m just recommending what I have experience with and own, but I have played a few of those standard Indo Mustangs and they are no better than the Squier Sonic, if $500 is your cap just get the Sonic and spend the left over on pedals..

Is there such thing as too much practice? Would the downtime that your body takes in what you practice be less effective if i tried to do as much as possible?
>>
>>128430212
If you like it, get it. It won't be a bad guitar by any means, will probably need a setup given that quality control on imports isn't the best but that's nothing new with those. In any case, it'll play as good as you can play it so at the end of the day, all that matters is if you're gonna wanna pick it up and play.
>>
>>128430350
Definitely. Personally I top out at around 45 min a day. And I usually don’t do it all at once. That’s how I see consistent improvement. Some people might be different tho, I’m the kind of person that like to do a lot of different things at once so guitar is not my main focus. For others doing just guitar 2-3 hours a day is more their speed. But improvement happens even when you’re not actually physically practicing, because you can metabolize what you’ve learned while you’re doing other things. It’s happened that I’ve taken a little time off and come back much stronger than before. For me the most important thing is not to push it so that it feels like a chore. If it feels good I do it, and that’s how I stay consistent
>>
>>128430350

It has its flaws / a bit finicky out of the box but once you set it up and dial it in you’ll probably love it. It sounds so good with Power Slinky’s and likely any set of 11-48 strings. I figured I’d want to put a hotrail or JB Jr in at least the bridge but it sounds so nice with the stock singles that I hesitate to change them. With a dash of drive it sounds so much like Nirvana’s clean tone it’s kinda freaky. They’re not my primary Mustang inspiration, but it is kinda cool to be able to nail their live sound so close when I’m jamming with friends who insist on playing Nirvana songs
>>
>>128430508

I always chuckle when you retards start out with LE BETTUR CUMPONENTS
you can equip a shitplank with custom shop tier components for less than 500 bucks. Don't you fucking dare to claim that the $2k more expensive MiA is suddenly better because it has le better components. It's like saying a car is better and has double the worth because it has nicer tires.

In the pantheon of best looking guitars in /gg/.
>>
Look guys, I found a fruity pebbles shit colored jacked to go with my fruity pebbles shit colored guitar. Man, ever since it was pointed it out I can’t unsee it, but much like smelling your own fart, it just makes me love the color even more. Even after working 10.5 hours today I squeezed time in for a nice thorough setup. Neck is shimmed with a .5° shim, break angle from trem to bridge looks much better, bridge raised up to accrue new angle on the neck, action at a perfect .065”, nut filled and lubed with graphite, neck conditioned and pickguard plastic removed. The tort pops even more without the cellophane. I can’t believe the dirt and grime that came off the neck… is the Ensenada factory outdoors? I was expecting at least some fret work but actually they’re level and there’s no sprout on the ends yet, that may change though because the date on the neck was 7/31/25. They may require some setup and elbow grease, but the higher end MIM stuff is definitely getting better, the only thing the AVII Jazzmaster has over this is a nicer trem, at least the electronics and soldering was complete on this Vintera II and it was scuffed all to shit like all the AVII JMs I’ve tried.
>>

I’ve played a shit ton on Fenders between 2024 and now shopping around and the difference between higher end MIM stuff and entry/mid USA stuff is essentially nil. It’s only when you get into the Ultra tier does any real change in quality and QC stand out. Juan builds them in Ensenada and José builds them in Corona, neither are bad guitars but the discrepancy in price is not justifiable IMO. No, you need Hiro building them shits at Fujigen or Nagano
>>
>>128432625

>>
>>128432790
I’ve been playing for 23 years, I trust my discernment over anyone else in this thread. The point is the difference between the vast majority of MIM and USA Fenders is very small when it comes to build quality and QC. Specifically within the last ~10 years. It’s not a cope, don’t you think I would buy two US Fenders instead of half a dozen MIM/MIJs if I believed otherwise? It’s the same reason I don’t shell out for muh vintage guitar, at the end of the day it just needs to sound good and stay in tune and that can be achieved with a $200 Squier.

>>128432718

First time tracking guitars!
Making a cover of Nekrogoblikon's whole Power EP, starting with Giraffe. I paid $20 for the tab book, which is more than what I paid for FL studio or EZdrummer.

Wanted to add another guitar to my growing collection (Gretsch Electromatic Hollowbody and a literal cursed AXL Strat) with something I can get good clean Midwestern Emo/Math Rock tones out of, and after a month's worth of research it seems like a Telecaster is the thing to go for. I've narrowed it down to a couple local options:

G&L Placentia ASAT Classic - $300
Used Squier Affinity Telecaster - $179
Monstrosity "Partscaster" (Pic Related) - $300 (link: https://musicgoround.com/locations/duluth-ga/product/S000264266/T-STYLE-PARTSCASTER)

Tonally, if nothing stands out based on anon's recommendations between these three I think I'll just go for a Sonic Telecaster in that Guitar Center green and spend the rest on pedals. Does the G&L sound that much better?

I'm currently torn apart: I can play music/jam with two different friends who play the drums.

- One is a great friend and is the world's worst drummer. We never manage to finish a single song because he fucks up sooner or later (usually sooner). But we have a great time and I can adjust to his shitty fluctuating tempo.

- the other is a fucking beast who already put out an album, to the point that I'm clearly the weakest one and I have no idea what to play on his super fast and technical drumming. It sounds like Kurt Cobain with a brutal death drum. Great guy too, but no fun allowed when we play.

Guitar is still the most popular instrument in the world, but it is no longer the central focus. Genres that emphasize the guitar first and foremost are waning in popularity, but you will be hard pressed to find a pop record that does not have guitars on almost every track in some capacity.
