Did you know that Orville Gibson sold his designs and name very early to investors and within a few years had no active role in the company? Weird, I always figured they were a family brand like Martin. It goes without saying that C.F. Martin & Co. was founded by Christian Frederick Martin in 1833, and unlike Gibson, it has stayed in the Martin family ever since.Nearly two centuries of quality and consistency... think about that.\Anyways, what's your favorite brand of acoustic guitar?
