I'll say that in that thread, I posted about Wishy. Wishy and After sound pretty similar in that Y2K trip pop rock vein. Disney Channel music for a chronically online reference. Now P4K is trying to convince me and it's readers into thinking Wishy is more credible (7.4 scores on two of their releases (no review for their newest EP which is much heavier on the Y2K sound)) because they're referred to as a 'shoegaze band' (they fucking aren't at all) and After isn't. These bands are running down the same lane hand-in-hand. You can feel the seethe in this review. They wanted so badly to give it a classic P4K abysmal score, but they have to hold back to not seem too harsh. This reviewer sounds like they have a personal one sided beef with the band. I like to see a negative review cause P4K usually never has the balls to punch down anymore, but man this one seems totally misguided and personal. Like this thing came out a month ago, they reviewed this intentionally almost as if to put the band down. They seem to be on tour now and are getting a good response. Seems like other places on the internet like it well enough, and I'm guessing this move will only deepen that fandom. Maybe this means P4K is back to being mean again.
