Look for classic death metal albums that aren’t by Death, Obituary, Morbid Angel, or Autopsy.I’m new to the genre and I’ve heard all those bands. I’m looking for slightly more obscure stuff that’s still considered essential.
I liked this album quite a bit, especially the drumming.
Gonna have to be more specific, NYUSOSDM or FLUSOSDM?

>>128474183Go to the Death Metal genre tag on RYM: https://rateyourmusic.com/charts/top/album/all-time/g:death%2dmetal/Listen to every album from the top until you get to ones that aren't bolded (when an album is displayed in a bolded font on an artist's page, it means it's recommended). Should be around 200-220 albums that cover almost everything that's considered classic, except for a few bands that RYMtards have a hate boner for like Cannibal Corpse. Afterwards you can look into those 4chins death metal charts like this one: >>128476929There was more of those on some wiki, but it might have been deleted. I don't know. Here you have some albums I like that aren't bolded on RYM:>Excoriate - On Pestilent Winds...>Malevolent Creation - The Ten Commandments>Obituary - Slowly We Rot>Torture Rack - Barbaric Persecution>Rippikoulu - Musta seremonia>Cryptopsy - Whisper Supremacy>Cannibal Corpse - Chaos Horrific>Nithing - Agonal Hymns>The Crown - Deathrace King>Magnus - I Was Watching My Death>Cannibal Corpse - Torture>First Fragment - Gloire éternelle>Behemoth - Demigod>Arghoslent - Incorrigible Bigotry
