Imagine being an indie band from a large city and nobody actually attends your shows outside of the "local scene" which is oftentimes just bored college students. That must be so blackpilling.

This is not really a thing that happens anymore, you are either an indie band that is struggling to get anyone to come out (actually indie), an indie band that is being lumped onto opening spots at livenation venues for more popular bands (probably already signed to a major label) or being shilled to the country at large as a "breakout artist" (meaning you're signed to a major label and have most likely already put out several albums)

Yeah, but then one band makes it big and if they're not fags, they try to pull for other bands they played around. That's how My Chemical Romance got noticed after Thursday found some popularity.
