500 greatest albums, how many have you listened ? https://www.listchallenges.com/uncuts-500-greatest-albums-of-all-time *PS- my list is even better :-D
I got to Pg 3 before I hit one Ive never listened (it was Leonard Cohen - You Want it Darker)pretty typical list though, nothing really surprising for a magazine-type list where theyre primarily trying not to piss too many people off, even though I don’t like some of the stuff they inevitably rated highly. but that try-to-please-everyone attitude means its devoid of any suggestion of individuality or personal taste, and essentially useless for someone whos been obsessively interested in music for many years.
Not having a MCR album in your top 500 greatest list, automatically invalidates it, and makes you look like a pretentious ignoramus.
probably 80% of themnot enough representation from hard rock and heavy metal imho

Interesting, that music critics show much more appreciation for Dog Man Star (77, much above any Oasis) than the ignorant, lowbrow rabbles on rym/aoty, proving the majority is stupid. Also, they ranked Absolution above Origin of Symmetry, and Yoshimi above Soft Bulletin (something anyone with good music taste would agree) I only disagree on qotsa, Like Clockwork is A LOT better than SFTD, don't know what to make of the inclusion of Hot Fuzz, good album, but maybe too high ?
>>128489599326. Good list, but weird rankings. How many people seriously consider The Ship better than Here Come the Warm Jets, Before or After Science and Another Green World, as just one example?
I’ve heard 76 of those.Kinda strange that Demon Days or Gorillaz self-titled didn’t make it.
>>128492245There are a gorillion post hardcore and alt rock bands that would keep MCR from ever being top 500. MCR gave up on integrity after their first album to produce slick radio ballads
>>128489599Strange lack of metal on that list
>>128493423metal blows bubba
>>128489599how old were the compilers of that list? 70+? nobody under 50 cares about all those singers from the 60s & 70s. list reads like the typical shit baby boomers have been pushing for decades with a touch of current random shit thrown in for good measure. stuff that doesnt belong there like taylor swift and my bloody valentine
>>128489599More like 500 most overrated albums
Made me lol to see halfway through they realized they needed to throw some rap shit in there per quota. Also Wilco like 3 times lol
>>128489599critics = nobodies
>>128489599>>128492534>>128492556>>128492557Interestingly /mu/ used to hate this band before 2016. You would've been crucified for even insinuating they were worth your time. Can't imagine you would've gotten much out of this board back then.
I got 25. Sorry I dont pick albums by critical acclaim
>>128496149Which ?, and which are your own favorite albums ?
>>128489599>Jew faggot listnone of these bands because I'm actually cool
>>128496358I'm pretty sure a "Jew faggot list" would include at least one POC in the top 10. In fact, it looks more /pol/ish than Jewish.
>>128493534prefab sprout is better?
I've listened to half the first forty. Would love to listen to more, but I'm mostly focused on listening to songs to expand my repetoire until further notice. Can't really listen to much outside that right now.
