Acknowledge that it's the greatest album ever
animals is better
the final cut is better
it's fucking boring.I like Pink Floyd, but only up to Meddle.
>>128490201i disagree by then Led Zeppelin already made Houses of the Holy
>>128490201its too short and half of it is soppy slop
Its not even the peak of psychedelic rock
>>128490802the beatles are awful
>>128490813*awesome
>>128490201great album, but inferior to all of the following:Jethro Tull - A Passion PlayKing Crimson - Larks' Tongues in AspicThe Who - QuadropheniaGenesis - Selling England by the PoundGentle Giant - In A Glass HouseYes - Tales From Topographic Oceans
That’s not even AOTY for 1973
>>128490822The Beatles are fags.
>>128490889False
atom heart mother is the only good pink floyd album
>>128490201Musically it's great but the lyrics are rather embarrassing
>>128491067Time has the most insightful lyrics of any rock song ever made
>>128490451I love led Zeppelin but you can stop being retarded. They peaked at 4 and it was only downhill from there, since they literally couldn't get any higher. Houses of the holy was a throw away album to chill the hype after 4. Physical graphity was their next true serious try at achieving something great, it did, but it would never be the same as anything that lead up to 4.
>>128490201When I order my top songs ever, Time ends up around 12. To call it simple misses the craftmanship of the expression. 120 bpm, and the progression forms a perfect narrative structure. The lyrics are like a park bench conversation about the most profound anxieties of life. No pretense to it, stated bluntly. Gilmour's solo is an attempt at some sort of bittersweet catharsis, but just not quite, it steps one note away from resolve.
>>128491614That’s not really their fault that Robert Plant threw his voice out after IV, the rest of the band is still great on PG and HOTH
>>128490201yeah, it is
>>128490451good griefnot even top 5 Zeppelin album lol
>>128491067the lyrics are actually very stronggive some examples of what you mean
>>128490201in the heyday of Paul's Boutigue and Fear of a Black Planet I assumed that one day we'd have a rap equivalent of Dark Side of the Moon. After a few years I realized it was never going to happen, not in rap, not in any genre. And that's because musicians today simply aren't ambitious. They're not inspired by great literature.Tey're not inspired by mythology, or the Bible, or science. They're inspired by other musicians. If they're inspired at all.Sad.

>>128490201Acknowledged and agreed.
>>128490201>1973It's gonna be pic related from me.

>>128490201The Wall is Pink Floyd's best. DSOM suffers from early 70s sound quality.
>>128492143>in the heyday of Paul's Boutigue and Fear of a Black Planet I assumed that one day we'd have a rap equivalent of Dark Side of the Moon.you did though, it was called Damn
>>128490201That's not Quadrophenia or For Your Pleasure
>>128497002>DSOM suffers from early 70s sound qualitythe trolling on display here... speechless
>>128497010>you did though, it was called Damnthe soft bigotry of low expectations

>>128491614Can you explain what makes Physical Graffiti so great.? It’s so highly rated compared to the other albums but nothing really stands out massively to me besides In my Time of Dying and Kashmir, which I don’t even particularly like.
money is the only good song though.
>>128498614>The Rover>In My Time of Dying>Trampled Underfoot>Kashmir>In The Light>Bron Yr Aur>Down By The Seaside>Ten Years Gone (arguably their masterpiece)it's an album filled with 10/10 tracksLed Zeppelin at their peak of creativity and skill

This mid album isn't even a top 50 rock album from the first half of the 70s, the midwit hivemind that worships the most mediocre dogshit is incredible

>>128503056Alphataurus is undefeated as far as I know. Tarkus is a little bitch who lost to a fucking bug.
I don't want to start a whole new thread for him but I don't know where else to post this either. Jards Macalé died today and he made one of my favourite albums (released in 1972). Not sure if it hits the same if you don't speak portuguese but his lyrics don't necessarily rely on metric or rhyme so you can just google translate them or whatever. A very weird album, on one hand they're doing standard MPB / Tropicíalia stuff, on another this is very very bluesy power trio type of MPBhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H8PqjHWjog&list=PLW1jS5I0HBcLGKZvNSy5AHFbBS3aEiXYL
