usually what stops someone to enjoy other music is because they already found a 'comfort place' and getting out of there would simply feel wrong
so it's easy to simply dismiss other stuff as 'not for me' especially with older individuals towards music from younger people or towards other genres one never even bothered to check out, the mind already have these 'othered' or labeled as 'not for me', or perhaps the mind feels uncomfortable being on an unfamiliar place
>>
open your mind to the music by force. break into your psyche and be a real man

Try to isolate music from its context, listen to it as if it were just sound or noise, and from there figure out whether you like it or not.

don't read /mu/ too much. the average opinion here is "any music i haven't heard before is derivative trash"
