I hated marathoning Swans's discography. It made me legitimately never want to listen to them again. By the time I got to The Seer I was disillusioned that this was even classifiable as good music anymore. The only silver lining is that this was almost a decade ago and so in addition to their new stuff I can give their old stuff a second chance. Moral of the story is to never obligate yourself to listen to lots of oppressive music, do it as the feeling comes.
