I thought Dave Holland did not participate in recording of this album?
>>

Great album, only a couple of clunkers (Johnny B Goode, Love You To Death) - think they were being more true to themselves on this than on Painkiller.

The guitar solos were next level for the time (and band).
Halford vocals were tiptop.

jawbreaker is literally about sucking cock

It's paint by numbers Priest. The material is pretty generic and the production is ass. They were desperate for a makeover.
>>

Rob was really fucked up during the Turbo/Ram era. They needed to get it out of their system before starting over on the next album. Also, to stop using a drum machine and get a real studio drummer.
>>
>>128526047
No one cares about this diaper shitter trash.
>>
>>128529889
It does have Blood Red Skies, which I would argue is not generic and one of their great songs.
>>
All of Priest is "mid".
>>
>>128526047
I loved it since the first time I listened to it, it was only many years later i heard it was a somewhat "hated" album and I was surprised

Turbo is kino.

One of my favorite songs ever, very cyberpunk.

>>128530741
Most of their albums are mid, but somehow as a whole they are peak once all of the enormous amount of good stuff they have is slapped on the table. The gems shine so bright that you won't see anything else.

True, and it's like that for most well known bands, some hits and a bunch of filler

I disagree immensely

Blood Red Skies ties in perfectly with the first 2 Terminator movies.
>>

I disagree, an album like Stained Class is all killer no filler in my view.
Some people say the same about Screaming or Defenders.
The entire 70's "S" trilogy of albums is a great run and shows the diversity in sounds they were capable of.
Priest have more great songs than duds, not many bands can lay claim to that. Even their most disliked albums have some absolute classics on them.

You're thinking of Sabbath, not Priest.
>>
>>128537116
To be honest, Priest, Sabbath and Maiden all have periods of non classic albums that still have good tracks. However Priest have more than the others.
Even in the Ripper years and with no KK (and Tipton being out of the game recently) they still have classic tracks (though not as many).
Sabbath had Forbidden and 13 which are pretty forgettable.

No.
>>
>>128537623
Really....
13 was a non event and a shit legacy album that was not needed.

Judas Priest committed the cardinal sin of bands with a gay singer: you can’t be TOO gay. With all the leather shit, RH was gayer than Mapplethorpe and he has photographs with a whip rammed up his ass
>>
>>128526047
Turbo is even better
>>

Halford is Gay!?
>>

We were robbed when they didn't release the Twin Turbo album.
All fired up is a great example of a song that would have been included on it.
Also still want to hear the songs they did with Stock Aitken and Waterman around then.
