spiritually, for those of us with any talent, it is more alive than ever, in a sort of ass backward way. i have things figured out way more than i get credit for, so i don't have to come here asking questions only to get harassed by the boomer and his ilk. covidfags and chronic shitposting anons were driven by naivety and wishful thinking, much like people in the early 2010s who were optimistic about how a simple laptop was going to replace hundreds of thousands of dollars of studio equipment (see: current year argument, the notion that technology will keep getting better at a fantastical year-on-year rate). the mainstream music sucked in the early 2010s and streaming services were in their infancy, so some DJs/EDM producers and beatmakers became successful, but the top tier ones got help from proper mixing/mastering engineers. now it is evident that your chances are slim to none of becoming successful without some extraordinary talent which should include being able to use gear in clever ways unless you have the full backing of a label so that you can work with top tier professionals who can help you deal with that stuff.
