Finally bought myself a Barber Gain Changer during his Black Friday sale. Was gonna buy a Benson Preamp but I’ve wanted a Gain Changer for a couple years now and just never bothered picking one up. Played my Fano and my LP Special side by side for the first time in forever after basically only playing the LP for when I want P90s and I forgot how different they sound. The Gibson pickups are much darker and more bass heavy while the Fralins in the Fano are brighter. Both sound great but when my amp is dialed in for my Telecasters the Fralin P90s sounds much better without needing to tweak amp settings. On my amp I usually keep the treble around 7 or 8 and the bass around 3 and even with that little bass the LP is bass heavy. I basically only use my EQ pedal for either my LP to kill even more bass. I love how the LP feels and I love how it sounds when the amp is dialed in specifically for it but I don’t like changing my amp settings away from my default for my Teles.

We recorded a bunch at the jam today but I'm waiting for my friend to upload the live set. It went a lot better with the guitarist today. We picked a key and then the jams really got good. She's really good so sometimes it's hard to keep up with her playing but either way I learned how to move around while there is someone else playing.
