Oof, sorry, best band of the 90's comin' through
>>128673931Mogged by Modest Mouse and Built to Spill
>>128673950lmao imagine believing this
>>128673950All 3 are great, but Pavement basically never put out a bad album.
>>128673950and Yo La Tengo
Got into Westing recently. Some great trackshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfTRs_Z1CNA
>>128673967they peaked with Sugarcube
>>128673950this is true but pavement is prolly third best :))))))
>>128673931>>128673950*mogs all three*
>>128673950Don't worry lil bro, youll move up to pavement in time
>how do I like my Fall you say?>dilute by 1/2, remove original ideas and sharp edges, call dad to pay the rent this month, make sure the whole band is wearing butt plugs, and le finishing touch... make them American, but lo fiembarrassing
Gay retarded bullshit for men who weigh less than their girlfriends. I hope you autists aren't enjoying this faggot garbage.
>>128673931>make unique sounding noise rock/noise pop record>abandon that sound and make 4 generic albums afterThey missed after this record
>>128674494>men who weigh less than their girlfriends. What's wrong with this?
>>128674668If you have to ask then you're beyond help, twink
>People don’t fall in love to Pavement … they put on Smashing Pumpkins or Hole or Nirvana, because these bands actually mean something to them-Bill Corgan, King of Alternative Rock
>>128673931Mogged by Siamese Dream
>>128674781'fraid so
>>128674781you know its bad when Billy is giving Nirvana credit
>>128674781KWAB
>>128674781Trvke
>>128674781Malkmusissies our response?
>>128673931I love them but cmon now >>128673950Mogged by mercury rev and thinking fellers>>128674494Why do moofags create boogyeman for artists they don't like >>128674781You could say this about any band>>128674128Good 9ne
>>128675849>A voice coach taught me to sing, he couldn't teach me to lovehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glYz2G76Wfc
>>128674416its not a bad record, actually very good but pale in comparison with the original thing, yeah. no doubt about it.
>>128674511>uniqueno, it was heavily Fall influenced
>>128675929You could say that about any band but it only applies to Pavement
>>128674511>They missed after this recordThat's because they lost the soul of the band---The Plantman.
>>128673931I thought this was the funniest album when I first heard it, Two States, shit like that, there's a wiry humor all thru out, it's direct and then at times subtle, you could tell they had a sense of humor that the band was on the edge, come to find later on that was the caseFor me it's Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, ala The Billy C seethe album, perfect for skateboarding around with nowhere to go. By the time it gets to Fillmore Jive, it's like the club closing and you gotta find some new thrill or call it a night, Range Life comes so late in the record but has that desert driving feel off into nowhere, there's all these really special moments, pitchfork had "Gold Sounds" as the number 1 90's single once upon a time. Cut Your Hair would've been so neat to hear in a barbershop getting yr hair cut by black barber Bill bullshitting about the lyrics while he's got the buzzer and dipping into the water with the scissors
>>128678701Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is a special album for me, too. Remember taking a long, long night drive listening to it while going to visit an ex.
>>128674128>mogs all three*Well, it’s a great album, but I don’t know I’d say it mogs BTS best stuff, I hate Pavement so I’m with you there.I actually didn’t like this record when it first came out. I was a big Polvo fan, but this record annoyed me at the time, and I stopped listening to them. Revisited it years later and it clicked. Unlike some, I also really like the stuff after they reunited—-especially Siberia. Anyway, very underappreciated band.
Dubs
>>128674781Hate what he did to his band but he's still the most entertaining interview in all of music
can someone explain why do some people find his vocals annoying?
>>128674781can’t believe I’m saying this… Billy tore it.SIAMESE DREAM and MELLON COLLIE have stood the test of time and continue to influence countless nugaze zoomers wannabe’s to this day.Pavement? WATERY, DOMESTIC was cool back in the day but nobody listens to that shit anymore. I guess “Harness Your Hopes” got some TikTok play as a novelty song or whatever… but you can’t tell me avant teens are reaching for BRIGHTEN THE CORNERS from off the shelves anymore the way they were 30 years ago. It’s over.
>>128682508hmm. pavement still has potential to blow up again. it's melodic, fun, tight, has a strong 90s aesthetic and a charming front man. Old Modest Mouse and Built To Spill will filter most zoomers however
>>128674781billy and kurt were 25 year olds making music for 14 year olds because 14 year olds spend most on music.pavement were 25 year olds playing for 21 year olds.pavement wins just by the simple fact playing for adults > playing for kids.which comedians are regarded as best? ones who design their stuff and do dumb gags for 14 year olds or those who gear their stuff for adult audiences? (was eddie murphy better when he did material for adults [like in early days] or when he switched over to kiddy comedy {because he knew adults were sick of him]?
>le too cool for school papyo la tengo, built to spill and modest mouse mog
>>128682732>modest mousehahahahah no
>>128682508"Nugaze zoomers" are literally too retarded for Pavement.
>>128682732kek such nerdy music
>>128673931Alright, hit me with ONE (1) Pavement song to convince me to listen to them.
>>128673931just listen to the fall, the gun club and swell maps instead. those are all of pavements influences/ripoffseven the cover of crooked rain resembles hex induction hour
>>128683616fall suck. pavement made good songs with real melodies. gun club is a different style too.
Summer Babe is an all time great indie rock song. That bridge is unparalleled
>>128673950Literally the 3 of them are indie rock at its peak
>>128674416Their best sounding stuff is the less fall sounding stuff
>>128684693and without pavement no bts and mm.
>>128674781> steve makes one dig at him in one song> endless saltmine that endures to this daykeep seething, billy
>>128674781People dont fall in love to Pavement, they fall in love with Pavement
>>128673931>GI-GAN-TIC>A BIG>DICK>SONG
>>128683526>Alright, hit me with ONE (1) Pavement song to convince me to listen to them.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0URp76yzf34
>>128673931Fugazi is the best band of the 90’s but there are lots of great bands with great music
>>128682536>charmingLol>>128683641Fall is one of the best artists in regard to melodies. Pavement melodies are related to that California 60s pop rock which make it predictable and samey >>128684709Their fall influenced record is their best, s&e
>>128686990Unwound > Fugazi
>>128687404Wowee Zowee is easily as good as S&E
Slanted and Enchanted is its own vibe, but I've never felt it to be the "best" of theirs. It's just different.Crooked Rain, Wowee Zowee and Brighten the Corners all measure up in their own way IMOTerror Twilight is the only record that feels a little half-baked to me, but then I haven't listened to it as closely as I have all the rest
>>128688008yeah but its destabilize power's gone
>>128673931The best? That is debatable But I will say the song The Hexx is one of my favourite songs ever.
>>128674128I have Shapes and I really like the weird instrumental tracks.
>>128683526The Hexx
>>128688074Listen to TT with the Godrich sequencing - the way God intended. The album flows better. Steve should've left his ego on the table.
>>128690803Flows better but it's still essentially a mid Malkmus solo record
>>128673967i unironically prefer their 80s and 2000s output better. I'll take Ride the Tiger and Summer Sun over anything they put out in the 90s.
