Based rudeboy.

What happened to chart threads here? When I first came to /mu/, these were by far the best place to find new music and talk to anons with similar tastes. Nowadays, they die within 10 posts at most and are just filled with lazyposters.
>>
>>128721337
yeah it was better, the board is getting killed by kpop/goon threads, casual/mainstream/pop music threads, all supported by the jannies.

Covid killed off a lot of oldhags unironically

Don't worry OP I will post my rec charts. Everyday I add more and more stuff this guy
>>
Mix of recent listens and favorites. Nothing too obscure, but I do like the rec threads and I'd like to keep this one alive for a bit longer.

Not too familiar with ska, is there one of these you'd pick as a starting point?

I think there's all of ten people on the board who actually listen to music, the rest just jack off to popstars and repost the same memes.

Nice ska punk chart anon. I made a similar chart a few weeks ago.

>turbopotamos
Damm I was expecting that one. Another good ska rock from Peru are
Fausto Orquesta - Los Satiriconchas
El Ghetto - El Ghetto
Suda - sake

Since you have Mr. Bungle, what are your thoughts on early Haken and Between the Buried and Me?
>>
>>128722007
I know mr bungle is sort of proggy, but I'm not that much into prog aside of certain bands. Never heard anything from Haken and I remember liking btbam's colors guitar wanking

What did you think of Colin Newman's solo work? Or Sports Team - Golf?

not the OP but three cheers for disappointment by ASOB is a great album, thats as someone who doesn't listen to a lot of ska. operation ivy is pretty good too but, like the arrogant sons of bitches, they dont have many songs

I hate Remain In Light, I'm curious if you think I still might like the others
>>
>>128737466
>I hate Remain In Light
Why? because they're white?
>>
>>128737466
no you wont. theres moments on there that you wont hate but those moments will just fill you with expectations for what isnt coming, which in turn will make you hate them for not delivering
>>
>>128738194
same reason I hate depeche mode and kraftwerk, not a very wide melodic palette, and its repetitive in a way that disengages. you hate emotional music because you associate it with folx of color and thats fine by me, you deserve to be deprived of all the good things in life
