looking at these adam t5v monitors cause they're on sale for 200 cad. does anyone have them and can say how they are for rock with heavy guitars? i have heard varying reports of the bass response especially, as everyone basically agree the highs are very detailed and sweet sounding.

alternately is there anything you prefer at that price point? the big battle seems to be with the yamaha but those are meant to be very pokey in the mids and fatiguing to work with
>>
Is there a Tom Lee or L&M you can go listen to them at?
You should go listen to monitors and compare before purchasing anything.

You're not going to get good bass extension on a 5" woofer. Simple as.

Never tried but if you are hesitant about these, you should save for the ones you really want and seems to fit your needs (if the cost is reasonable).
