Glyn Johns' Get Back was too heavy on the loose fly on the wall feeling and just meandered a lot. Macca's Let It Be Naked was too much of an overcorrection and erased most of the live spontaneous feeling of the recordings. Spector's version hits the right balance. He had to mold those tapes into something that both captured the laid back vibe of the sessions and the documentary and was also a listenable and marketable album, and he did it as best he could. The things that have been said about his overproduction are terribly exaggerated. Only The Long and Winding Road really goes there, his treatment of the other ballads is pretty tasteful and he leaves almost all the uptempo cuts completely unvarnished.
