Holy shit
They suck. You would like Com Truise.
I wish there was a way for futuristic themes to be enjoyable again.
>>128756385I listened to citizen erased before I listened to paranoid android, 10 year old me was blown asunder
>>128756385The mixing and mastering is so godawful relative to the compositions/musicianship it's actually incredible. Some things about the anniversary mix are better, some worse, but I appreciate that they gave it a go because if ever there was an album that needed that treatment it's this one.
>>128756465I don't listen to their new stuff but Origin of Symmetry has some good songshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz4YVXt8vjs>>128756868Good songhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gDVat2NRpU
Yeah it's crazy, Muse's first album sucked, and then for Origin Of Symmetry and Absolution they suddenly decided to kick a ton of ass, and then they went right back to sucking shitPretty weird!
They were on a trajectory to take over the world... & then thing got faggy
>>128757157All I can hear is some twinky dude subsisting his soul on art hoes. Just my opinion.
>>128756465wait is com truise considered good or bad here
>>128757171>not liking Black holes and Revelations
>>128757490I like Map Of The Problematique, the rest of the album is only better than the trash they started making right after it
>>128757532The best song was a B-sidehttps://youtu.be/PG_x24ccYjM?si=8VchvfDRZWNlxDU8
peak versions of Citizen Erased and Megalomania are on Hullaballoo
>>128757758Muse were always much better live
>listens to Ok Computer once
>>128756868Me too, but I soon realised that radiohead is just better.
>insecure Radiohead fanboys still seething over Muse
>>128756385>when you snee-eeeEEeeEeed>snee-eeeEEeeEeed>tooooo Chuuuuu-uuuUUu-uuuuck
>>128756385Great album.
>>128758034Radiohead sucks balls.
Epic as fuck from start to finish. Only flaw in this album is the high pitch Thom Yorke style singing. Literally the only bad thing about it is the one thing that makes it vaguely sound like Radiohead. That's why I prefer the live versions when Matt sings with a deeper more masculine register.
>>128756385Yeah muse really did have two good albums.
>>128757532Take A Bow, City of Delusion, and Hoodoo are fucking masterpieces. Compositionally top 10 Muse songs easily. It's funny you mention Map of the Problematique, since I consider it one of the weakest songs on the album.
They should have kept taking drugs. How do you go from a 6/10 ok-ish debut to this fucking insane epic album and then just end up making dogshit slop for the next 20 years. Also one of the most perfectly sequenced albums ever.
>>128760097Why so fixated in Thom Yorke? Do you feel like among all tenors in music history he's the only one along with Matt and some two other guys?
>>128760353They have a very similar timbre in their voices, that's just a fact. It's not intentional, it's just how he naturally sounds. Matt is a more talented singer, has an overall stronger voice and now sings mostly in a deeper register, but in the early days they sounded very similar.
>>128756385I wouldnt say its divinatory or "holy" by any meansJust your typical post OK Computer faux Radiohead esque stinky alt rock radio shitThe type that lead to those Tik Tok zoomers who use Chat GPT too much but think they are more authentic and true to whatever alternative culture is than say my friends stoner dad who made a living skateboarding in the 90s and fingerbanged your mother at OZfest in the Rob Zombie moshpit
>>128760620You're an autistic faggot with zero knowledge of music.
>>128760641Tylenol is uh hella uh drug
>>128757171Showbiz is a very strong debut album. It's much better than Radiohead's debut album.
>>128760719Yeah, and Radiohead got so pissed off after their first album's release that they never made a bad album again. Muse can not say the same thing.
>>128757532Take a Bow is the best Muse song. No, I will not elaborate.
>>128762980>never made a bad album againKEK. Creep is their only good song. The only reason Radiohead got "pissed off" is because they were sued for Creep. Their most famous song is a cheap copy of a 70s pop song. Radiohead were embarrassed by the fact that their biggest hit was a shameless rip off, and have to share royalties with The Hollies for the rest of their career. Radiohead is one of the few bands in history that has been sued for plagiarism and LOST.
>>128756385Idk, but I really like Darkshines.
>>128763395Then Radiohead sued Lana del Rey for ripping off their rip-off. THAT is some sore loserism.
>release mostly slop for 15 years>suddenly dropped their best song in ages out of nowherehttps://youtu.be/jXmUJvNSSm0?si=XFUPyHg6PBV4vlYe
All modern Muse albums have 1-2 great songs among the sea of shit>Animals and Supremacy >Reapers and The Handler>The Dark Side>Kill or Be Killed
>Most of the sessions for Origin of Symmetry were famously recorded when they were 'shroomed up. There is a scene in the Hullabaloo Extras, when Dom and Matt were seen in a store with little plastic bags of "Magic Mushrooms", and later, a scene of mushrooms cooking. It appears that they have cut back in recent years but Matt Bellamy did state in an interview with Q magazine: "The magic mushrooms have made a bit of a comeback recently." In the same interview with Q, Matt described a recent 'trip' on a bouncy castle at a Las Vegas fancy dress party in which he merged into a Salvador Dali painting. Bellamy said: "Dom had a dog mask on and he ran off into the desert and I ran after him. For a minute I was actually in a Salvador Dali painting. If you look at his painting 'The Elephants', I was the little person at the bottom of those elephants' legs". Matt also claimed that the use of psychedelic mushrooms helps to "open new doorways".
>>128756385>Still in their ripoff Radiohead era Pretty good sequel to The Bends ya
Hullabaloo is peak
>>128763844>The Dark SideHave you heard the Alternate Reality version? It so good, it kind of reminds me of Hyper Chondriac Music. >>128766537Also this. The acoustic version of Shine is imo so much better than the regular one on the Feeling Good single.
Radiohead for people who have sex
>>128760486I think they sound similar more due to the lack of other British high pitched singers than because of a substantial similarity in their timbres. Thom Yorke could be brought up in a comparison to any alt rock singer with his vocal range because apparently he was the first British guy to sing high pitched in alt rock. But Matt's voice was also similar to that of Jeff Buckley, who he said that inspired him to sing the way that he does. So to me it's unfair to characterize "high pitch in alt rock" as "Thom Yorke's style", because the ones who did it after him didn't necessarily resemble him. To put everyone who did it inside of one style would be fine, but calling it "Thom's" is forced.
>>128760097>Only flaw in this album is the high pitchI enjoy this song more when you consider matt was high on shrooms the whole time.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3aRxqYeXlc
>>128757171I personally like Black Holes and The Resistance because they fully embraced their faggy pop influences, which they excelled at, while making it solid projects with moderate ambition, those were the albums that perfected their identity, only to flanderize themselves with 2nd Law and beyond, they never got a clue and that's a shame because I feel deep down they were capable of more, but Matt is a lazy fuck
>>128770554There's like 2 "poppy" songs on each of those albums. Do people listen to the albums or just the fucking singles? The best Muse songs are the less popular ones.
