>>
>>128830428
they make it simpler
if you need thinner strings then just rock them
>>
>>128830428
Because your hands are weak

yes, what do

Seriously, though. I literally have fine motor skills issues and arthritis, and I have the cleanest barre chords in town. My hands are absolutely fucked, but I love playing so much that I just play through the pain every single day.

get Steve Vai's hands
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMjmjXHJoPg

just kidding just keep practicing within your limitations, also consider making one of your guitars a scalloped guitar or buy the Yngwie Stratocaster, choose scalloped rosewood. You can also get the scallops yourself, they help you grip the strings better. I'd recommend if you get scallops in your guitar get em in one that has a whammy bar, on your most complete guitar and make that your skill based guitar for all around practice and all that. If you own other guitars keep them in different tunings.

Two things. First thing is boring but it's just keep trying to do them. Second thing is look at where your fingers land. You want them as close to the fret marker as you can go without being on top of or crossing it. Not the middle of the fret or further back (look at the picture you used). Use the harder outside length of your forefinger as well, not the meaty underside. With that you'll get it before you know it.

>>128831449
got better over time but still suck at them, must practise more
>>
>>128830538
Iirc scales are all the notes in a key, arpeggios are the notes of a chord. Notes in sequence that is, not together
>>
>>128830428
I remember avoiding them for a while too, cause they were hard. It took a while, but I can at least do 'em now; I honestly think you have to work those muscles in your finger/hand the same way that you first need to get calluses on your fingers. Takes time, but you want to fucks with those F's and B's eventually. Shit sounds nice.

Of course some guys didn't play them and still sounded good. Tim Buckley wasn't good at barre chords because of a hand injury he had in high school, but he's still great.

>>128830428
Remember that you don't want to bar the entire first fret, just the notes you actually hit. So like the hand in the pick, just the top and bottom of the finger. This is less stressfull for the wrist

pure wank
>>
>>128830645
my hands are bony and i have calloused skin. shit hurts
>>
You need to strengthen your upper back and shoulder muscles otherwise you’re gonna get fucked up hand problems.
>>
How do people play B major.
I can play regular E shapers barres no problem but oh god B sucks.
>>
>>128833354
You'll have to learn how to do it with your pinky as well
>>
I haven’t seen any anons suggest a setup yet. Post pic of your string height above the fretboard. Lots of guitars come from the factory with very high strings and need an adjustment at the nut and/or at the saddles. Nut height is set with special nut files and saddle height is set either with screws on electric or by popping out saddle to sand underside on acoustic.

It's a right of passage every guitarist has to go through. Hang in there, you've got this.
Later on, you'll wish it was that easy.

ANTI BARRE CLUB
No drinking here.
>>
>>128835295
Maybe but doing a barre chord really doesn't require much strength. If anything beginners press down way too hard
>>
>>128830428
Have the index finger stick a bit out over the fretboard, makes it easier
>>
>>128830428
How to people struggle with this? Lmfao
>>
>>128837989
women...
jk some people have small weaker than average heands with a lot of stiffness to them, they gotta unrust their muscle memory and the only way is to do it.

>>128832172
>too many notes for my small brain
you say that like its a bad thing. thats fucking nutty.
>>
>>128838311
