Why're these the least talked about 'tallica albs?
>>
>>128836533
Because they are aggressively mid
>>
They're not that interesting. Death Magnetic is the sound of a dog catching it's own tail
>>
They are not bad in a funny way like St Anger and Lulu
>>
>>128836533
Why are the last three Rolling Stones albums the least talked about? They're way past their prime.
>>
>>128836533
Mogged by new Testament albums

MY LIFESTYLE DETERMINES MY DEATH STYLE
>>
>Death Magnetic
Good. I like it.
>Hardwared to... Self-Destruction
The first half of the album is good, but the second half is pretty weak until Spit Out The Bone.
>72 Seasons
Pretty weak. I don't know what they were trying to do. It's probably their most boring album, though there are a few decent songs.
I feel like the band is getting worse and worse. If they release another album, I'm afraid it will be so boring that there won't be anything redeeming about it.

WHAT WERE YOU UNFORGIVEN FOUR?
>>
>>128837369
They should have reworked Inamorata into The Un4given, instead of being The Outlaw Torn Part III.

Being gay for Lars. We know who Nothing Else Matters is really for.
>>

Unforgiven is a trilogy about frustration over the world, then love, then over oneself.

The idea is that once you acknowledge that you are the cause of the problem improve and that's the first step in order to become someone better.
>>
>>128836533
All of them are good. Boomers think every Metallica Album needs to sound like the first albums.
>>
>>128836533
This happens to every band with Metallica its like
>early days '83-84
>prime '86-91
>late career '96-98
>fall off '03-
>>128837346
I agree pretty much exactly with what you say about Hardwired, except I still think I was on par with prime Metallica
>>
>were always more a heavy metal band than a thrash metal band
>has spent decades performing mostly 80's and 90's material, resting on their laurels
>band gets older and older, James's voice is shot, none of them can play fast for long, making new songs sluggish
>songs are too long, both because of their speed constraints, and songwriting that lacks economy
>Kirk lost a phone he had his ideas on, so he had nothing to contribute to Hardwired
>songs try to appease both their heavy/thrash metal fans and their hard rock fans
>they don't have a Dave or Cliff to bounce ideas off
>production is loud and clicky because everyones' ears are shot
James or Lars need to write a solo album or start a side project, just to write something different before they're on death's door.
>>128836592
Most of Lulu, even without the comedy gold tracks, is at least more interesting than their 21st century output, simply because they were collaborating with someone completely different. Mistress Dread goes toe to toe with Spit Out the Bone, for me.
>>128837422
I thought Inamorata was My Friend of Misery II?
>>
>>128836533
They're irrelevant fanservice
>>
>>128836533
james' voice sucks
>>
>>128836533
they jumped the shark 30 years ago. it would be like talking about season 35 of The Simpsons or something
>>
>>128841543
Not true. We want them all to sound like the third album. We want Megadeth to sound like the first album.
>>
>>128836533

>>
>>128842205
>to sound like the first album

Incorrect. We want Rust in Peace 2.0, not KIMB 2.0.
>>
>>128836993
Duh, no shit. That’s obvious. Testament’s most recent album shit s on anything Metallics has done in 30 years.
>>
>>128836533
If Hardwired consisted of multiple “Spit out the Bones’s”, it would’ve been the best album since Black Album, but it didn’t, therefore it is more or less a throwaway record.
>>
>>128836533
Because they're mid. Not hilariously bad like Load, Reload, St Anger, Black Album. Not good like Kill Em All, Master, RTL. Just unmemorable and blah.
>>
>>128836533
>'tallica
What did you just say?
>>
>>128844331
No, I mean I want Megadeth to sound like Metallica's first album.
>>
>>128836533
At what point did Metallica decide all their albums needed to be 75 minutes or more? Ride the Lightning is my favourite by them and is a relatively trim 47 minutes.

they filtered the masses with these hit pieces

Why is there an exploded baby crib? Weird image. I would've gone nuts for the wired to self destruct cover with the morphing faces when i was 16, that's cool
>>
>>128836533
magnetic was mid and badly mixed. hardwired is the best of the 3, but that's a pretty low bar. 72 sounds like AI generated metallica songs
Fan projects mog current metallica

>>128845949
iirc i read part of an interview and james said "72 seasons" refers to your first 18 years as a kid or something.
>>
I’m not a hater, but all three albums are way too long. Hardwired was a fucking double-album for absolutely no reason. 72 Seasons is the worst of the three, it sounds like they used all their rejected riffs and lyrics from Hardwired and turned forced them into being these boring dragged out forgettable songs. These guys are in their 60s and obviously the creativity and spark is gone. If they release another album it should only have like six or seven of their best potential songs on it, and none of them should be over 5 minutes long imo
>>
>>128836533
They're mostly stock.
>>
>>128841606
>band gets older and older, James's voice is shot, none of them can play fast for long, making new songs sluggish

far as i know they still do the live songs at the original tempos although James has changed his technique a bit as he's gotten older to make things easier on himself
>>
What do you think of Kirk's solo project?
