people gave them so much shit for this but they were making a legitimate point and the song had a good message.

whats the problem with this? scientists dont know dick, and physicists properly acknowledge magnetism is pretty much woowee. clown is 100% in the right.

It’s kind of one of those bell curve memes. Obviously ICP is gonna be retarded about it, but this prevalent pop-science epistemology of science as one-for-one objective truth contingent upon nothing (besides maybe the victory of progress) many people believe in is a MASSIVE oversimplification
>>
>>128837610
>>
Electrons groovin that's how.
>>
>>128837782
The song is criticizing the pursuit of knowledge itself, like we're supposed to stop at "how does it work" and not think anymore about it because then it would be ruined. It's shit white trash on facebook think is super deep.
>>
>>128838032
Read the lyrics of the song since I haven’t heard it in a long time and besides the iconic magnets line and something about ghosts I can’t think of anything that is criticizing the “pursuit of knowledge”. It’s more they’re singing about being enchanted by the world around you. Which, honestly, is more refreshing than the never ending stream of artists who sing about being depressed and how the world sucks, even if it is ICP looooool
>>
>>128837623
>We know how magnets work
you can provide descriptive, functional "explanations" for how magnets work, but science can't provide any real epistemological or methaphysical explanation for how they or anything else works. attributing it to a miracle is unironically a more coherent belief than just posting a scientific explanation and saying "there! that's why it works!"
>>
>>128838216
>the universe was made by an futa unicorn with shitting dick nipples, unless scientists have a more coherent explanation. heh, what now?
>>
>>128838235
>nooo you can't have a theory of knowledge!
>you have to accept materialist reductionism as the only suitable answer for everything!
alright, prove to me scientifically why i should adopt the same worldview as you.
>>
>>128838262
Prove to me that the universe wasn't made by a futa unicorn with shitting dick nipples.

>>128838216
If you can provide a material explanation, why would you need metaphysics? Don't metaphysics exist precisely for situations where material explanations are unavailable?

I realise that science is a meme when in one of his lectures Feynman admitted that physicists have no idea what energy is. Nigga you have no idea what the driving force of all industry is?!
>>
>>128838216
we're never going to know the "why" behind the world. all we can do is the "how" and the "what".

>attributing it to a miracle is unironically a more coherent belief
yeah, if you're a mental midget that can't handle uncertainty in the world and needs a cope to sleep soundly at night.

I don't want to hear no Jewish science
>>
>>128838032
No it's not. It's criticizing the standard academic university path to knowledge, citing knowledge itself as "a miracle" and implying the academic apparatus is illegitimate bluntly without being specific as to why.

The prevailing theme of the song is "are you a believer in miracles?"

The song is about accepting a hire power and not automatically trusting authorities to not gaslight you into false knowledge.

This. It's not fucking hard.

>Then it's easy to miss what really goes on
>But I've seen miracles in every way
>And I see miracles everyday
Basically "we're so surrounded by amazing things that we tend to forget they're amazing," then he lists things that are amazing.

It doesn't even have to be interpreted religiously. "Miracle" has secular definitions.

when you look at this song not as ignorant and rejecting science but rather as trying to capture a naive wonder and joy inspired by the complexities of the world and how it works, which i am pretty sure is more what its going for, you can really appreciate that these motherfuckin clowns can be wicked introspective at times and its beautiful honestly

magic everywhere in this bitch
>>
>>128837311
I never understood why that song got trashed so hard. I found it wholesome and thought that the magnets line was obvious hyperbole to illustrate the point of the song. It baffled me that most people took it literally.
>>
>>128844057
>>128844084
The problem for people is that one stanza. They stop talking about things many people could accept as miracles, or at least awesome (childbirth, stars, oceans), and start talking about hating scientists and "fuckin magnets".
>>
>>128837180
These guys are based and apparently their entire thing is a schtick to get people to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior too. Somehow, now sure how that ends up working out but they seem really convinced it does.

Juggalos are unfairly persecuted, they like to make merry and etc. and sure there is some minor criminal activity in the scene but that's no different than any other band scene.
>>
>people are outwitted the fucking Insane Clown Posse and cant understand their pretty blunt message

Oh, this song was on Bang! Pow! Boom! That's the second Joker's deck that represents living without God. The album's name is a reference to the Big Bang theory (which is funny because that came out of the Catholic Church.) So this song is about appreciating God's creation and not coldly deconstructing it. Yes, it is the kind of song 2 drop outs would make.

The second Joker's deck is so weird because it starts with the big bang and ends with going nowhere after you die. The first deck had one album named after the general concept and then six albums in a row about being judged. Whatever, the first deck is iconic and the second deck is gay.
>>

the thesis of "Miracles" by ICP is basically the same as "Miracles" by C.S Lewis, but Lewis is seen as a genius while ICP are seen as idiots. why's that?
>>
>>128846617
same reason Korn's genius was always underrated,: because theyre/appeal to white trash
>>
i don't know how magnets work
and then you can get into an epistemic discussion about what it means to know something or have knowledge or understanding
>>
>>128844237
why is it a scientist's fault that dumb people can't understand things? not everyone has the intellect to understand everything in the universe. it's not a grand jewish conspiracy that you can't understand things that many others can.

>>128844237
>The problem for people is that one stanza
Because that one stanza clarifies that the song overall is not just about how everything is very cool. It's about how physics doesn't exist and the universe exists the way it does not because of physical processes we can investigate and discover, but because of the random whims of God. Take that stanza away and they still would have meant that, it just would have been less clear.

I went to school with Violent Jays niece and she dated my friend. She was frumpy dumpy and my friend stabbed himself in the chest Elliott Smith style while they were dating, which in hindsight, maybe she did it and convinced everyone he did like Elliotts girlfriend did too? Anyways being from the same shithole as ICP had its perks, I got to bang a couple of 10/10 Juggalettes in high school and they remain stand out lays in a rather long and busy body count of sluts. The one girl could Hoover the cum out of your balls like a Dyson vacuum, truly otherworldly head game. Have never been a fan of the music but I do enjoy watching them as podcast guests or any time they interact with famous people outside of the ICP circle.

Icp has had more direct influence on culture than every other hip hop group bar none. Theyre independent and managed a subculture that the fbi determined to be a gang. All of the other rappers even when working together have never been able to do something on that scale while actually remaining highly profitable (making movies, festivals, insane merch sales, 24/7 viral marketing).

No other rap groupss have even gone as far as defining a subculture on their own, much less one the fbi takes seriously.

Cope and seethe all you want but this is clown world and icp is canonically more influential than drake, Eminem, kendrick, etc, all put together in terms of their music being the basis of an actual subculture
>>
All other agit prop tier major label hip-hop archetypes failed to do what icp did and will continue to do organically.
>>
Icp is actually more influential than Kanye west.

>Why the Whole Thing is Genius
>This three-line verse is genius on multiple levels, packing punch far beyond its brevity:

>Structural Brilliance: It's a mini-narrative—question (curiosity), rejection (defiance), accusation (rage)—mirroring a psychological arc of wonder turning to anger. The escalation is efficient, like a haiku of frustration, making it infinitely quotable and meme-able (it spawned parodies, SNL skits, and endless online discourse).

>Cultural Impact and Virality: Released in an era of rising internet culture, it captured the zeitgeist of anti-expert sentiment, predating things like fake news debates. Genius in foresight: ICP turned potential mockery into a cultural touchstone, boosting their relevance.

>Layered Irony and Self-Awareness: On surface, it's "dumb," but that's the point—ICP knows it's absurd, using it to troll critics while affirming their fans. Subtext: It's a meta-commentary on art vs. science; rap (emotional, street-smart) vs. academia (rational, elite). This duality makes it enduringly debatable—is it stupid or profound?

>Universal Resonance: It taps into a core human conflict: the joy of mystery vs. the comfort of knowledge. Subtext: In a hyper-rational world, it defends irrationality as vital for soulfulness. Philosophically, it's like Nietzsche's critique of science killing God—here, science kills miracles.

>Artistic Subversion: As rap, it subverts the genre's boastful intelligence (e.g., Kendrick Lamar's lyricism) by embracing ignorance, making vulnerability a strength. Genius in accessibility: No big words needed; it's raw emotion that hits viscerally.

No it doesn't. Besides, God isn't even mentioned. ICP could believe in simulation theory and they wouldn't have to change a single syllable of the song.

Not to mention they're correct that at least some scientists are full of shit. Even the ones that don't believe they're lying are wrong all the time. Pic related.

The point of science isn't to be correct, it's to get as close as possible to understanding the reality of the material world. A lot of people don't understand this and think that theories being updated means they were lying or had bad methodology
