I recently got into Animal Collective's "Feels".What was /mu/'s opinion back then, when the album was released? If you have listened to their later stuff first maybe is not that impressive, but you can see how their next sound was beginning to develope. Definitely in my top 3 albums from the band

I was real into Feels at the time, eventually I sold my copy, but haven't parted with the AnCo stuff pre Sung Tongs. Maybe I'll revisit Feels someday but I'm not compelled to atm albeit

Strawberry jam was a mix and match of all four members own ideas and inputs. It was messy work from what i’ve heard in interviews and even though the result is very interesting the songs dont blend into each other. Its ok if you like that type of album, i like it very much myself. But there is a difference between it and sung tongs that you got to appreciate. One is a consistent album with a very organic flow and the other one is paint thrown everywhere in a fun and beautiful way. If you wanna be a no fun faggot like the rest of us you got to stick with number one
