Who else plays bass like Al Cisneros does? I've listened to gazillion bands and artists in my life, and I can confidently say that I've never heard anybody else who sounded like him, no matter what genre we're talking about. He's like a spider out there. Relentless, smooth, aggressive, with an odd sense of groove. He's not even moving in a linear fashion. It's crazy. Closest guys that you could compare to his style are obviously the og dub masters, Robbie Shakespeare and the like, but is that really it?

I know that feel bro, nothing quite hits the same spot as Om but JPJ's playing on The Sporting Life gives me some similar vibe, esp the more eastern tinged tracks

I kind of hate Diamanda Galas' brand of vocal pyrotechnics so I never checked out her albums, but you might be convincing me to do so with that great song, even if I still dislike what she's doing on the mic. JPJ's always ace, and he sounded top tier on that track. Although it's still not as massive and hypnotic as Al's stuff.
Just remember another super tight bassist that I like a lot in Jah Wobble, and while he's got that massive yet punky edge to his dubby (haha yup!) style, he's not as kaleidoscopic as Al gets, which is a pretentious thing to say but that's how it sincerely makes me feel. With Jah, I can still sort of tell where I'm going metaphorically speaking, whether it's with his solo stuff or with PiL, but Al's like getting lost in the desert and continuing to move forward past the mirages and under the constellations. Maybe the imagery of the albums is clouding my understanding of what differentiates their playing kek.
