>unironically create the greatest nu-metal album of all time and give actual credibility to the genre>proceed to release 3 generic rock albums that all have the exact same sound>disbandwtf were these guys' deal?
i dont recognize them
me on the right
>>128862441i think its mudvayne?>>128862426>wtf were these guys' deal?if mudvayne, they needed to make money, and record company wanted to tell more records
>>unironically create the greatest nu-metal album>>proceed to release 3 generic rock albums that all have the exact same soundclassic case of (((executive meddling))). in the case of Korn, after their debut one would have expected them to soften or become more radio tailored, but they got this weird experimental vibe all over it, follow the leader being the one where they clearly tried to make radio hits.
>insert Terence McKenna quotes and flawless fretless bass
>>128862426They are fucking cornballs and their outfits look stupid. They failed MASSIVELY at looking cool like they think they do. Determined is a good song and Dig but couldn't name any of the rest.
>>128863086Idk I think their guitarist looks cool
>>128862426Most bands from that era had one maybe two good numetal albums in them before they switched to some sort of hard rock sound.Linkin Park immediately shifted to radio rock after their one album.Papa Roach was edgy nihilist rap-metal for exactly one album before they transformed themselves into glam buttrock.Slipknot was heavy as shit for two albums before going soft.Powerman 5000 had the one funk-metal album and then their sci-fi nu-metal concept album (and the next one that was scrapped and lead to the band breaking up) before turning into a generic rock band and falling off the mainstream.I could go on for other bands, but I liked mudvayne's 2nd album. Just as much if not more than first.>give actual credibility to the genrebro they were one of dozens and dozens of numetal band in the mainstream. There was something for everyone.
>>128862426Greatest nu-metal album of all time is Down with the Sickness. I liked LD50 as much as the next Slipknot fan but Mudvayne was a glorified mask metal band. Another band that came out with greatness and petered out in mediocrity was Static-X.
end of all things is okay
the bass lines in LD50 were very very good, the tone too, everything. that ryan dude had flamenco guitar training right? we need more patricians in rock, theres only so much a retard that only listened to AC/DC can do.
>>128862426slipknot sucks
