I came up with a “new” tuning today.
Basically, if you have a 12 string, tune the top 5 pairs in unison instead of octaves. (E2E2-A2A2-DD3-G3G3-B3B3-E4E4) Then, take the small bottom string and tune it to be to make a root 5 power chord (b2E2-A2A2-D3D3-G3G3-B3B3-E4E4)
Now you can have a guitar drop tuned and in standard at the same time.
For example, I’m currently tuned to C standard and drop C at the same time. (g2C2-F2F2-A#2A#2-D#3D#3-G3G3-C4C4)
What do you guys think?
