One of these days, I'm gonna ride a Yamaha bike while strumming a Yamaha guitar and tooting a Yamaha clarinet all at the same time

A lock to stop the Floyd from floyding

Is the Boss tuner pedal any good? Thinking about getting one
>>
why would anyone in their right mind spend $100 on a tuner
>>
>>128871905
Can you even fit wide ranges in there?
>>
>>128872017
You need a discrete, reliable tuner pedal if you get gigs.
You're not one of those bozos who bring a clip-on tuner onstage, are you?
>>
>>128871956
It’s nice when you’re playing somewhere loud and you can’t hear yourself tuning so you can just use the pedal and to it by sight, or as like a signal kill to cut noise to the amp. At home I only use it for intonating when setting up. I just tune by ear at home but it’s invaluable when that isn’t really an option due to loud ambient noises

a tuner like a Peterson Strobe tuner is handy if you do your own setups, cheap ones can't get intonation set very well

Gonna sell my Fender American Telecaster. It WILL NOT stop buzzing, no matter what
I paid 300 bucks for it to get PLEK'd and professionally setup and as soon as I get it, it still buzzes. I've had a luthier shim the neck and polish the frets and professionally set it up, and it buzzes. To make it stop buzzing I need to raise the action to 7/64 which is unplayably high. I put a fret rocker on the neck and all the frets are level thanks to the PLEK. I fucking hate that guitar even though I've owned it for a decade
Is that just a thing all Telecasters do? They just buzz? I mean it, NOTHING will stop this piece of shit from rattling
>>
>>128872017
because you only need one and they last for 5-10 years? why would you spend hundreds on throw away picks when you can spend $35 on a single blue chip that will last you your entire life? why would you buy multiple cheap guitars when you can just get better?
>>
>>128872124
where is it buzzing
>>

That's a D-tuna it drops the 6th string's tension to switch you to drop D without having to do a whole re-setup of the Floyd
>>
>>128872151
Low E and A mostly. Anywhere it is fretted. It does NOT buzz when played open usually unless I hit the strings hard. But my relief is at 10 thous and I will go between 8 and 12 to try and get it right. Nope, doesn't matter.
>>
>>128872124
None of my Teles I’ve ever had have ever buzzed once set up normally.
>>

https://youtu.be/6-rm-vZuWB8
>>
>>128872212
does the buzzing go away if you put your finger on the string at the saddle? also are your strings really low tension or downtuned
>>
>>128872207
You can just leave the micro tuner screw almost all the way in when setting the guitar up in standard E so you can go from that to drop D and back using only the one screw instead of unlocking the nut and using the tunas

Do you guys prefer the 12-string version or 6-string?
>>
>>128872124
There's always a little bit of an inherent crunch/buzziness to vintage/single coil style Fenders. But maybe that's not what you mean.

I wanted something with humbuckers finally. Put 11's on it and even restringing was a learning experience. Plays so fucking nicely though and sounds so full and crunchy.
>>
>>128872469
I prefer 6, but like the sound of 12 strings too. They're just too much of a bitch to me. The Floyd Rose of acoustic guitars.

For sure. All of the hassle of a Floyd, but without even the cool squeals. And even more of a shitty target player. Djenters and tappers or some shit. Faggots who don't love a glorious boomer bend.

How do you like your 1981 DRV? There’s one locally I’m tempted by.
>>
>>128872288
>does the buzzing go away if you put your finger on the string at the saddle?
not really but I don't know what matters. I have a gotoh compensated brass bridge since the stock fender 3 barrel saddles are dogshit. I might swap the saddles as a last resort
>also are your strings really low tension or downtuned
nope. this guitar is tuned to standard using 9-46 strings

>>128872488
my other tele, which is a 5 string open g guitar so probably not a good comparison, doesn't really buzz, so i don't know

It's really nice for low to medium-high gain compared to an actual Rat. I think the Rat actually gets a little gainer on the high end, but the 1981 has some really nice OD tones on lower gain that the Rat can't quite get to.

I also have a Moth Electric p. Incorrupta thats basically a Rat clone with a bunch of different clipping options, but I've always just came back to the DRV. If it's cheap enough used I'd snag it.
>>
>>128872294
yeah but the D-tuna gets you there instantly. also if you min/max your screw during initial setup, you can't adjust for when it inevitably goes out of tune

if the nut or saddle doesn’t have a good ramp the string can buzz really badly like in pic related. if you press down on the back side of the string and the buzzing goes away that’s what it is. shouldn’t be frets if it was plekd but the plek only does as good of a job as the person running it
