I'll say right off the bat that I feel sorry for Phil Elverum for losing his wife and the mother of his child to cancer, I can respect that he put his heart on his sleeve (even if he did remarry a year after this was released). But musically this is garbage. All it is is just Phil lazily strumming an acoustic guitar to lo-fi production and going "You always told me you wanted to be a dancer, but instead you have stage 4 pancreatic cancer" for over 40 minutesHow can anyone honestly sit through this crap? And the worst part is that critics were basically forced to give it a 9/10 or a 10/10 or else they'd be attacked by an army of faggots online for being tasteless. It's really annoying that a story can carry a shitty album and fool people into thinking it's good (also see The Disintegration Loops)
