>>128884440This has been my experience, MIA and MIM are nearly identical QC wise with a few models as the exception one way or the other, both can be set up into good guitars unless you get a total lemon with a bad neck or something. MIJ fenders have a level of QC that is orders of magnitude better, some have cheaper components but they do offer them with better wood/electronics now, which used to be a CIJ distinction

I had a real mij yairi acoustic and qc was on par with my $4k martin but it was just a soulless guitar. same type of wood on the back and sides but the martin just looked a lot better because of the type of finish they used. shouldn’t be qc issues on mia guitar but it’s a reality especially on the higher end ones that require more handwork but materials quality is night and day difference. when I have a mia instrument I can go for a month and several gigs without even tuning it. that’s what I’m paying for
