Music peaked in the 60s, continued well into the 70s, and climaxed in the 80s - MTV is literally that best and most exciting thing to ever happen to music. Past that it's all downhill. The 90s still experienced some glory because of the fresh legacy from the previous decades, but music was taking a backseat to the industry's commercial interests, MTV in that decade was already showing severe signs of decay. Anyone who says the 00s and beyond have been any good is outright lying. Absolute dogshit ears without any sincerity, grandiosity, or anything memorable.
