What is /mu/'s favorite Björk album?
im fucking SICK of bjorks voice at this point, i could never listen to her again and ill be extra fine
vespertine
>>128890391debut
>>128890391None really, I love some songs in em but I have never fully liked the entirety of any of her albums. Maybe Volta gets close.
>>128890391that one
>>128891222what can you hate, or even dislike, with picrel?
>>128892832There's only 4 standout songs here. They're pretty great however.
>>128892853right, so I'm tipping you be meaning:1. Human Behaviour3 Venus as a Boy6 Big Time Sensuality10 Violently Happytake another at random, There's more to Life - >I could nick a boat>and sneak off to this harbor>I could bring my little ghetto blaster>Theres more to life than thisBjork, live in the Milk Bar toilets, thats a fucking exceptional, wonderful post-club tune. And near all of the rest, I could equally argue for - I'm not super fond of Play Dead tbf, but fuxsakes, the rest knocked it out of the park. Since when was 'only 4 standout tracks' a valid criticism of an LP?
>>128890391I was listening to this one right here just now, it's pretty good
She only has a half dozen of good songs.
>>128892929>Since when was 'only 4 standout tracks' a valid criticism of an LP?Since it meant that you skipped the rest of the album and didn't bother with all the other songs. Can't say the same about some of her later releases.
zoomer queers embarrass themselves: a thread
>>128890391vespertine but even that one is bad because of Bjork's voice I dont like it.
>>1288928321. Like2. Meh3. Like4. Meh5. Meh 6. Meh7. Meh8. Meh9. Meh10. Meh11. Meh12. MehDebut has to be one of my least favorite Bjork albums desu, way too 90s for me, I don't dislike or hate any songs on it, I just don't care most of em. Those few songs I do care for tho I really like and listen regularly. It's like that for most of Bjork's albums for me.As far as criticizing the albums objectively and stuff like that, I wouldn't know how to begin to do that and I don't really care.
>>128893552>way too 90s for meyeah, 'Debut' is inarguably a child of its time - you can't have Debut without Soul II Soul's 'Club Classics Vol I' for example (and producer of both, Nellee Hooper). Like Massive Attack's Blue Lines, these albums were the sounds being pumped out of every car stereo if you were alive back in the day. And to anyone who was, none of these albums sound 'dated' now, just absolute fucking classics. YMMV.
>>128890391Homogenic>vespertine>post>debut Haven't heard the rest yet
post sounds way more dated than debut
>>128895179because you have heard less of the music released before and around debut so you don’t know how dated it sounds
>>128895196no, sorry. better luck with your faggoty condescending guesswork next time. bitch.
>>128895205you don’t know shit about music, zoomzoom
>>128895218i know way more about it than you, and that's good emough for me.
>>128895196>>128895205anons drawn his 'sounds too 90s!' line in the sand and now he's gonna defend his sandcastle against all tides To the bitter end.Tell me, is this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWmrfgj0MZI'too 90's' also?if so, you're fucking retarded.
>>128895229not even close, i own a record store and have been steeped in it for three decades. you just got shat out
>>128890391I haven't listened to her stuff enough to say which one I like more than the other. It is a really different style and sound
I'm a Sugarcubes guy. Lifes Too Good probably
>>128895269cringe
>>128895834cringe that you were born in 2005 and think you know more about 90s music
>Uncs absolutely seething cuz early 90s Bjork is objectively datedC'mon, it's okay if you enjoy something bc of nostalgia, but just admit it's dated, fuck, I get that you gramps enjoyed Debut waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when, but even Bjork avoids most of the songs from that period like the plague. Late 90s to late 2000s Bjork was so peak it retroactively made anything before so meaningless, so dated and bland that nobody thinks about it when discussing Bjork.
the one where the fat mexican guy bombs her and she dies
>>128895902tell us all more about your 'record store' again bro>no really
>>128895918>tell us all more about your 'record store' again bro? Tf are you talking about lmao
>>128895930ah, youre a different >>128895269 assholemy apologies - lot of you about.
>>128895902i’m an unc arguing with a dumb zoomer that debut sounds dated but he’s telling me no. i realize you new crop of zoomie scumbags will just lie and make up whatever you want and then run away, but this is truly getting unusable as a site now. you guys are like 10 year old esl retards
>>128895957So u guys are like basically two uncs, or at least two dudes pretending to be uncs, both acusing the other one of being zoomzoomz, also one's a nostalgia fag and the other's like a real g telling it like it is? Oh and one of you own one of those hipster record stores? Bruh
>>128896019nigga you sound like a bot
medulla is best bork
>>128896328Where is the fucking line with you?
>>128896328nah this is where her fans were confused and she didn’t manage good reviews for once. selmasongs was better. her best are homogenic and vespertine esp the japam imports with bonus cuts
>Debut = 90% Pop Bjork + 10% Weird Bjork>Post = 70% Pop Bjork + 30% Weird Bjork>Homogenic = 50% Pop Bjork + 50% Weird Bjork>Vespertine = 55% Pop Bjork + 45% Weird Bjork>Medulla = 10% Pop Bjork + 90% Weird Bjork>Volta = 40% Pop Bjork + 60% Weird Bjork>Biophilia = 20% Pop Bjork + 80% Weird Bjork>Vulnicura = 35% Pop Bjork + 65% Weird Bjork>Utopia = 15% Pop Bjork + 85% Weird Bjork>Fossora = 30% Pop Bjork + 70% Weird BjorkI am a Volta enjoyer myself, a bit weirder than usual but not too weird and still charming. Everything went to shit after that.
Vulnicurachads, where you at?
I LOVE Utopia!!but medulla is 2nd & vulnicula is 3rd
>>128896567*vulnicuraalso Bachelorette is her best song
>>128896593Unison mogs it for best song overall.
I'm probably the only person in the world who likes Biophilia
>>128890391Homogenic > Vespertine > Post > Debut >>> Vulnicura > Medulla > Volta > BiophiliaI have listened to Utopia and Fossora only once
>>128896642the thing with Bjork is that even her worst album is still a 6/10 one.I think Biophilia is pretty much on part with all of her works from the past 20 years: decent but kinda forgettable.
>>128890391Post
>>128896510homogenic hit the sweet spot
Probably Post or Vespertine
>>128896686This seems accurate.
