>>128893935man the 50s had some shitty cover art
>>128893935this cover art is so tuff
why are we posting every shitty obscure Xmas album on /mu/ this week?
This appears to be an expanded edition of a Xmas single Brewer put out in 53 but the date of the reissue is listed on Discogs as Unknown.
>>128894559
>>128893935idk anything about Teresa Brewer other than that she was i guess some kind of Pat Boone tier singer
>>128894559This is not actually an LP, it was two 45 discs and considered an EP.>>128894578She never had a proper Christmas LP just some EPs and other random bits of Christmas material.
>>128894606if you've seen threads about 50s music which we have occasionally you're sort of accurate. Coral was one of the more infamous 50s labels, it was Decca's dumping ground for superschlock singers while the main label usually got the more classy, uptown acts.
>>128893935This lady's voice is an, um, acquired taste to say the least. There was a thread on Steve Hoffman Forum from back in 07, when she died, where someone said as much. The funniest post in there was a guy who met some kind of Teresa Brewer superfan who ran a St. Louis oldies record shop and had a bunch of her stuff there and was going on about her being an underrated genius, but the guy was so annoying that it was a put-off.
>>128894728you can find "that" kind of person for any singer/band no matter how facepalm-inducing they are to most people. i bet there's a guy out there who thinks Nickelback were secret geniuses/auteurs and you just don't "get" them.
>>128894728kek most Teresa Brewer songs are pretty terrible, i guess like with Neil Sedaka her voice really prevented any sort of artistic evolution or growth from being possible, it's not like she ever had a chance in Hell to become Peggy Lee or anything. her cover of "Rock Love" was charming in its own way and i guess the original '50 hit version of "Music Music Music" (not the six or so remakes she did of it over the years) but that's about it.
>>128894617I find it amusing that Rosemary Clooney also did not make a Xmas album until the 70s when she was old and nobody cared anymore.
>>128894559because the 50s schizo is a fucking loser with nothing better to do
>>128894912The last thread was the Gwen Stefani Xmas album and I'm pretty sure that wasn't from the 50s lol.
>>128894912>>128894559Would you prefer we have an Olivia Rodrigo or K-Poop thread instead?
>>128894949no but it also doesn't benefit us to discuss the 50s equivalent of Olivia Rodrigo
AND THE WAYWARD WINDIS A RESTLESS WIND
imagine if the 50s tranny posted the absolute hidden gems that pioneered excentric genres, but he posts fucking chart topping doo woop ding dong garbage
>>128895089>that pioneered excentric genres?
>>128895086Wrong singer.
>>128895089Imagine if 60s trannys posted the hidden gems that pioneered excentric genres instead of the Buttles and other corporate boybands.
>>128895208^This.
>>128895208Really, why do you think the Buttles, Loop Zoop, and so on weren't chart topping corporate slop?
>>128894665I think Coral were the most infamous 50s label next to Dot.
>>128898582ok 50s pedo
>>128898582The K-Pop spammer is a bot, it's not a person.
IDK what a 50s schizo even is honestly.
>>128898649anons think anyone who posts about 50s music is one guy and not multiple people which of course it is
>/mu/ zoomers are obsessed with 50s shitty acts, they post them all day! they just cant stop!xdddd
