Why don't many classical orchestras use saxophones?
>>128894541that's marcello lol. i used to work with him.
Its too loud and all the players are usually try hards who try to improvise
They werent invented until like the mid 1800s so most of the old classical masters were dead. In terms of sound its bitey reedy texture that cuts through in like pop or smaller chamber groups would be somewhat lost and sometimes overpowering, and you use an english horn for the bite and the french horn for the warmth and you can go between them and not have, saw the bite at all times. In a smaller chamber group where you can hear it better theyre kino. I also like the sound of using tenor alto soprano and baritone sax replacing the trumpet, french horn, trombone tuba, but because of the saxes sound you have to build around it, and it usually works better without a woodwind section.
>>128894541its one of the most overrated brass instruments besides keys can do its sounds and you dont have to learn a whole complex instrumentsax is a meme
>>128894642>you dont have to learn a whole complex instrumentpeople play sax because its one of the easiest to play.
>>128894664between getting proper embouchure and the keys the sax sucks ass when youre starting and thats why people play the guitar and keyboards now
>>128894707those things you learn in the first two days of playing. its still the easiest brass instrument to play
it has a gay too sensual sound, doesnt fit the orchestra
>>128894775i could fit a lot of things in your "orchestra"
>>128894761Thats because its a woodwind not a brass instrument. It has a reed and clainet fingerings and is like the deformed child of both camps.
>>128894541When rock had horn sections it was peak.
