People really paid money to hear his albums be funny maybe one time before it got old?

he’s doing this in 2026 too
>>
>>128895587
He made the Incredible Gassy theme, he's still got it.
>>
>>128895587
>mfw toob looks just like him
>>
>>128895587
some of his originals are legitimately great songs
>>
>>128895587
I only know his music because of YouTube so no, I never paid for any of his content
>>
>>128895733
you paid for the internet or data usage and you chose to use those cents on weird al, plus you ‘paid’ in google data collection and your data was sold to intel agencies, and it will be used to jail you later and free weird al won’t save you
>>
>>128895611
>>128895630
people only see him live because he is le heckin wholesome and have nothing better to do.
>>
>>128895733
He's been releasing albums since the 80's and he would've been dropped if he wasn't selling a bunch, so people were paying for his physical releases.
>>
>>128895763
nah his shows are fun as fuck
>>
>>128895763
who cares *why* people do anything, the point is you live in a fake reality where you think these artists are hurting when it’s you who is hurting. you will never have a one hundreth of weird al’s success. you’ll never even have wayne garf success. envious booger eater zoomie twatface
>>
my first music memories is my bro getting Alapalooza on cassette and listening to greatest vol 2 and feel bad for the people that only hear mean spirited youtube tripe. WeirdAl4Lyfe
>>
>>128895587
I guarantee you that more people wore out their Weird Al CDs than Unwound or whatever angsty shit is the revisionist pick of the month.
>>
>>128895587
>it got old
Not really, he covered then-new hits that mostly all later became certified classics. Everyone still like to listen to Michael Jackson's Beat It or Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. It's those songs, but upbeat parody versions of them.

For me, it's the one polka medley that has a bunch of numetal song covers in it.

fave tracks?
For me it's Skipper Dan. Don't even have a nostalgic attachment to it, it's just great

again, this is something I'd listen to once, maybe think it's interesting, and probably never hear again. I just can't fathom that people would go out and buy his albums at full-price. If he was a youtuber then yeah I could see it.
>>
>>128896151
there’s all kinds of shit you can’t fathom that is happening
>>
>>128895785
Why waste your time defending him if what you say is all true?
>>
>>128896476
so that you could read it and ask me that and remind me to turn off the internet for a few months

White and nerdy
>>
>>128895763
He goes all out with his shows, it's really fun.
>>
>>128895630
>shitholes like redding and modesto but he skips sacramento
t-thanks, Al
>>
>>128896084
Kind of hate that Polka has become a sort of inherently comedic genre, these arrangements are genuinely quite good, especially the horn section, but then he has to go and ruin it with the slide-whistles and other comedy sound effects.
>>
Weird Al used to post on /pol/ so he might be more based than previously thought
>>
>>128895630
That's a fucking insane tour schedule.
Imagine how much stamina Al probably has (in bed).
>>
>>128897122
>>128897024
75% of those dates are in literal who cities so there's probably a reason for that
>>
>>128897122
He goes pretty extreme. He does full costume changes between songs and he does it insanely fast, then he goes about all over the stage and always goes down into the crowd. The amount of energy he has is insane.

He came to my small ass city and a friend went to see him.
>>
>>128897135
Because Al can pack a house in New York City or Sheboygan WI, unlike most touring acts who rely on major metro circuits to survive?
Actually wouldn't be surprised if he could sell more tickets in a white flyover area than some trendy place like LA.
