Some would say this is Nirvana's best album. Do you agree?
>>128904548Yes.
YES BECAUSE IT WAS RECORDED BY THE GOD OF RECORDING STEVE ALBINI REST IN PEACE
>>128904560May the 330 million gods of India curse Steve Albini in samsara for all times!
>>128904588I ALREADY SHIELDED HIM PREEMTIVELY YOU TRANNY DEMON
>>128904588lol fuck that dead faggot>>128904607and i premptively redirected your shield to some other faggot who is dead so you get nothing
Tranny coded album. If Kurt hadn't offed himself he would have trooned out. Pennyroyal Tea is a banger though and the MTV version of All Apologies is beautiful.
>>128904548Nirvana are garbage
>>128904765False.
>>128904548>I'm not like them>but I can pretendpeak shitposter mentality right there.
>>128904548Technically, if you are the most trve and elite nirvana fan possible, as i am. The correct order of the album from best to worst is this:1.Incesticide2.)In Utero3.)Bleach4.)Nevermind5.)*With the lights out boxset, for completion. Lots of good and rare stuff on that one.
>>128904811That's not bad. I'd probably still put Nevermind above Bleach, but depends on the day. WTLO disc 3 was my fave IIRC.
>>128904811Have you heard the Elmo collections though? Also I'd rank em: >Nevermind>In Utero >Incesticide>BleachHaven't actually ever given WTLO a listen to before so I guess it's time.
>>128904831That’s fair, I mean, for that to be the worst album for true fans still speaks to their greatness. The songwriting is fantastic from start to finish, of course. The only reason i place it last is because i agree with Kurt that, i think nirvana is at their best when they are raw, grungy, distorted and minimally produced. no excessive studio polish. And nevermind is soaked in studio polish. It still sounds great, I just would’ve rather had Steve Albini mix that one too. My favorite things off WTLO iiirc was Do Re Mi, his blues covers, the Led Zeppelin cover, hate myself and wanna die, seasons in the sun makes me cry, and pay to play.>>128904839That looks like something that came out after i phased out of my nirvana obsession. Nirvana opened the door for me to all kinds of different music, and i listened to them so much when I first discovered them as a teen, that I rarely revisit them except for occasional nostalgia. Really, I could probably play and sing almost every nirvana song from muscle memory at this point. Fecal matter demos, the box set. But I hadn’t heard of this. So I’ll check it out. I also haven’t seen this “montage of heck” people talk about a lot. Is it any good, anything new in there?

>>128905046I find your criticism and dismissal of in utero on the basis of it being “depressing” and “a dude who’s gonna die soon” to be trite and superificial.I mean, you can make the exact same points about the album “closer” by joy division. But that’s exactly what it’s meant to be. And it does exactly what it’s supposed to. It’s a gloriously cathartic expression of sad and angsty emotions. It’s nirvana firing on all cylinders IMO, the songwriting is great and catchy, the production is raw and gritty as it should be, it’s all very heavy and yet still juxtaposed by very catchy soft and touching songs like heart shaped box, pennyroyal tea, and dumb. And then you have the heavy as fuck, scentless apprentice, radio friendly unit shifter, milk it, it’s so cynical and doesn’t give a fuck, it rips dude so, you’re a fag and your shit sounds all retarded.
>>128904560>buries your band's vocalist in the mix every single timethank you albini, very cool
>>128904548Not in the slightest. Nevermind obviously is, but people try too hard. Even Kurt himself.
>>128905359Its rock though, not karaoke
>>128905498It's shit and I'll never pretend it isn't. His whole Big Black era was better, ironically. As good as some Rapeman songs were, he went off track right there.
>>128905498Speaking of karaoke, probably my fave song to do karaoke to is Smells Like Teen Spirit. I just belt it out as loudly and atonally as I possibly can and it always gives the people I'm with a real kick out of it.
>>128905359As it should be. Too loud vocals have ruined a lot of music for me.
>>128905587You sound like a giant faggot, no offence.
Rock isn't supposed to have quiet vocals. He's imitating a punk band in a shitty bar that had shitty gear and PAs that simply couldn't keep up with the rest of the band. No other rock did that in the past.
>>128904995>i think nirvana is at their best when they are raw, grungy, distorted and minimally produced. no excessive studio polish. And nevermind is soaked in studio polish.I agree 100%. I can't listen to Nevermind because of how polished it sounds, though obviously the songs are good.
>>128905359Albini didn't impose that though, he's the guy who openly hated "producers" who imposed their touch on everything. So people must have wanted that. Or at least they liked how one Albini record soudned and then just told him to make it sound like that
Bitch bug or whatever its called RUINED nevermind
>>128905252I'm fine with that. You'll grow up one day and be an adult and when you do I'm here for you.
>>128904548wasnt the flop of this album why Mr. Nirvana blow his brains off?
>>128905802Curdt Cocaine is still alive and living in Cuba w/ Michael Jackson.
Yeah because it sounds good. Pedo big mac guy was really good at recording stuff
>>128905252Both In Utero and Closer suck ass compared to the albums that came before them
>>128905597Its always about the music first but thats not something I'd expect someone who likes men blowing in their ear to understand
>>128904995>“montage of heck”I liked it. it was entertaining at least. Based Buzzo saves the entire thing. still think courtney and dave killed him.
quit posting this fag band.this was an average album from a slightly better than average band of early 90's.only reason people still talk about this old, 'one and a half hit' wonder band is because lead kvetcher topped himself.quit encouraging suicide, you dumb life-hating fags.
