Odd question. Why do bands and artists sanction songs for use in political campaigns in the US as long as there's a D next to their name? I can't help but notice that.
>>128910137Because most artists are globohomo
Springsteen is one of the worst artists to get to that level. Same with U2 and Bon Jovi
>>128910137>Why do bands and artists sanction songs for use in political campaigns for politics they support? We may never know...
>>128910137>>128910152>>128910156Even ignoring LGBT stuff, feminism, etc. which most artsy-minded people are probably more temperamentally likely to support...Conservatives hate art and artists. They think it's a sissy life choice and tell their people to go into the trades instead. And to aspire for nothing more than being a father or mother. Probably because conservatives take the Bible seriously and don't give a shit about this world. They're just waiting for Jesus to come back and nuke all of reality in 2 weeks. Why would you devote your life to creating some new form of art in such a philosophical paradigm?
>>128910137Question: why do Republicans pirate music from bands that expressly forbid them from using their music?I guess it's only bad if Dems do it with the artists' permission.
>Dems allow Springsteen to be the soundtrack to their campaigns>They all become soulless automotonsIt ain't a coincky-dink>>128910383Conservatives like that don't even really exist anymore. Modern right wingers just hate the arts because the modern right wing is built on rancour and accelerationism.
>>128910383>Conservatives hate art and artistsAbsolutely false statement. Read Scruton.
>>128910532I fail to see what you're trying to accomplish with this statement
>>128910154U2 is incredible wtf? They have more 10/10 songs than most bands have albums.
>>128910532in most (probably 80% of cases) the record label and not the artist owns the recording. so as long as Trump or whoever pays Sony the artist can't do squat.
>>128910137Listen here music man that's a nice career you got there. Shame if something happened to it. Better support that D party if you know what's good for ya.
IDK about everyone but let it be known that every artist signed to Interscope is a DNC op because the founder of that label has been a prominent Democrat donor since the 90s.
>>128910383some truth in that, but i'd say the main reason for conservative (lower middle) oppo to arts is the odds are 99.9% you'll financially struggle to the point of not being able to have a family, etc.
>>128910532learn how music rights work.songwriters/publishers who own the rights to songs contract with the two or three main public performance rights groups (ASCAP and BMI plus a few smaller ones, i think) who issue blanket rights for the public performance of any song in their repertoire (which is basically every song). individual songwriters can not legally ban anyone from playing their song if the entity is question paid BMI/ASCAP/etc for the right to play any song in their repertoire. so they ain't 'pirating'.left-wing songwriters just know they'll get a sympathetic ear in the left-wing press if they complain about, even tho they have no legal basis for the complaint.
>>128910676That's operator error.
