Is it true that Frank Blank threw a guitar at Kim on stage because she put a song about black dicks on his grim dark album about insanity

Evidences to support my theory, when asked about the song meaning Franklin said
>A good chord progression, very Lou Reed influenced. I'd had the word 'gigantic' in my mind just because the chord progression seemed very big to me.
as if to distance himself from the actual meaning of the song.
Later on decades later Kim added the song to her bands live setlist, essentially making it her song not Pixies

I mean everybody who quits a band and still has a music career does songs they sung for their prior famous band.
it's the worst song on album I think. people just like it because it's the only one the chick sang.

Yeah but it was in 2017 that she started playing it with the breeders almost 30 years later, after her and Frank had mostly gotten over things (afaik haven't really kept up). The thing too is that if we look at Pod and Last Splash Kim is a pretty good songwriter and can capture that dark moody vibe but she definitely has a penchant for overt sexuality that Frank avoids (Doe is literally a song about tasting cum). Gigantic was really the only song she ever got full credit for writing with Pixies and I always got this feeling that Frank either felt like she trolled him and snuck it past him or just that the song had eclipsed the meaning of his work so he never let her write again and basically just simmered at her until he threw a guitar at her on stage which all situational comedy aside is some big dude compeltely losing his temper and physically assaulting some tiny woman.

Are you missing that most of the songs from Surfer Rosa are about being a deranged pervert? It totally fits in with theme of the album, considering the other songs tackle cuckoldry, molestation, incest, and crossdressing

But it's about how they express it, for Frank sex is always something metaphorical and distant, it's like Cactus, it's a sweat soaked dress in the mail, you fill in the rest. For Kim she describes the actual overt acts and organs directly. It almost seemed like he was so stuck in that metaphorical mindset that he saw stuff about gigantic love and shady place and assumed she was speaking the same language as him (like he did later on lala love you, a semi iconic love song) he didn't realize she was describing a literal sex act until it was too late and it had become the hit single and in some ways representative of the band (one of the biographies on them is actually called Gigantic)

I always heard Frank couldn't handle having Kim as co-bandleader/writer and that's what eventually caused the breakup. but I never heard about him throwing a guitar at her onstage.
it sounds theatrical/made up.
but if there's a reliable source, let's see it

If it was so overt than she wouldnt have had to say what it was and 'trick' him. Its totally in line with the rest of the album, hes just a control freak sperg and eventually they push people away like pic related

>I always regretted that I kicked a guitar at Kim onstage, in Germany somewhere. She’d showed up really late for the gig, and of course that made me tense. I felt terrible about it, because I’m not very physically aggressive. I don’t know what set me off – I guess I was just pissed off.
It's like the most popular pixies lore, but what actually happened is unknown since fans like to dramatize and he is obviously going to downplay it looking back 26 years later

It's more that it's comparibly overt. Once you know what the song is about the mental image is basically a dude with a big dick fucking a woman by a tree, it poisons the imagery/meaning of the album. My wonder was just always to what degree Frank was aware of this since he always beat around the bush about this songs meaning.
>>
>>128943312
Comparatively overt? Broken Face literally has the lyrics

"There was this boy who had two
Children with his sisters
They were his daughters
They were his favorite lovers"

Taking a big dick is one of the tamest themes on the record and if youre more uncomfortable about "I found out this songs about fucking and it ruins it!" than a song about sister fucking it just means you probably just have some sexual hangups man.

There's not a single direct reference to sex or genitalia in those lyrics you quoted. When you give Kim creative control she writes songs that while using poetic language are about specific sex acts (Oh! and Doe with the breeders). All I'm saying is that I think they had actual creative differences that they were probably both too young/childish to work out. Because let's be honest we never got anything like Surfer Rosa or Doolittle from any of them ever again.
>>
is Frank a chud?
>>
I don't see Bossanova get talked about as much here or elsewhere, is there a reason? It's not as good as Doolittle but it's still awesome imo
>>
>>128943585
I think he just immerses himself deeply in his fantasies, in Trompe le Monde he was on some shit about having had a past life in Egypt and being connected to a woman who lived there. The narrative is usually either that Kim is a crazy bitch or more popularly that she's a feminist icon who was snubbed for song credits, I think there's a bit of truth to both but the breeders also totally petered out after their first two albums so they were always both probably doomed to (relative) obscurity without the other
>>
>>128943648
It's just a bit generic, it didn't really lean fully into the electric surf rock aesthetic outside of one or two songs. I personally like all four albums but the last two are practically from a different band, presumably because it's just a frank solo project at that point
>>
>>128943312
kicked a guitar? like, it was laying on the stage and he kicked it, or he held it up and drop-kicked it?
either way, if it was a solid body electric, that's going to hurt your foot and probably not travel into Kim at any sort of hurtful speed.
that's just a bizarre thing to do
>>
>>128943724
I mean that's from Frank I don't think kicking a guitar in someone's direction is going to become a canonical band break up inciter, I know there's fans who think the guitar actually hit her lol. If you consider it's a 90s alternative rock he almost definitely whipped it in her general direction not caring if it hit her or not
>>
>>128943698
Fair, but I will say Velouria is my fav single from the band. One of the longest earworms I've ever had when I first heard it
>>
>>128943681
pixies is probably THE major 80's alt touring group.
and nobody knows what the breeders is doing. i suppose they or Kim solo must play time to time, but it isn't some big thing.

Frank won big (if there actually was some kind of rivalry between them).
>>
>>128941000
Definitely not the worst song, its got spirit to it and some of the chaotic tunes on surfer Rosa just dont have lasting power
>>
>>128943516
the closest thing in gigantic is the phrase "hunk of love", whats the difference between that and directly saying lovers other than it makes you feel a certain way because youre scared of your small peepee
>>
>>128940529
>she put a song about black dicks on his grim dark album about insanity
source? burden of proof is on you about that being the reason
