'90s Killing Joke > '80s Killing JokeWhat are the other bands on the extremely short list that actually got better with age?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8nfxzCJyBEWhat's the deal with this, I heard neither KJ nor NIN had anything to do with it.

Mayhem. Fight me.
>>128956400Porcupine Tree, while the 2 most recent albums are not as good their peak, their '00s output is overall better than their '90s stuff
>>128956400They didn't get better. They just never sucked.
80s > 00s > 10s > 90s
>>128956400listening to some late era trumans water right now. i like their late stuff more than their early stuff. its less heavy and more based in repetition without losing their distinct loose and wonky feel
>>128956400Radiohead

Basically what happened is Killing Joke's roadies and friends made the KLF and the Orb and also the main guy Youth also went to school with the Dave guy from Pink Floyd and these guys all now that they are old and have made it hang out at Youth's studio and fart around and release shit on the WAU Mr. Modo label which is worth checking out. They also somehow got what's his nuts, Lee Perry to get on there for some dub action and it's all right.Pink Floyd and Killing Joke and The Orb and KLF and all these guys are in a big clique and also they make stuff like this just for fun too:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTHjtd06V-s
Also they are one degree of separation from Trevor Horn who was the "sound of the '80s" and shows that it's really these couple guys who defined music for the last 50 years. Kind of everything from New Wave to Kraut Rock to everything in between.Look at the roster of just The Orb and trace them one degree of separation out, you've got nearly all the big genre defining people right there.

>>128968339so it's like 98% of rock albums then?
>>128968434pretty much, yeah
Nirvana improved with every subsequent release
>>128968478yeah, but that's also a band that was around for basically a blink of an eye. most bands over a decade after they debut are completely spent and uninspired.

Pink Floyd count? They were absolute garbage before Barrett left. The Flaming Lips went from mediocre to much better to a mix bag.
Killing Joke are a weird band for me. I forget about them and then come back to them and rediscover something new. Like all of a sudden I've been listening to Revelations a lot. https://youtu.be/ymvW3wHWJAg?si=xi1TaalQBspzKst2
>>128968678they got better early on and then remained very consistent
