Oasis was a total nonentity in America, totally unknown to 99% of the population and it makes the bongs seethe like nothing else.Name an Oasis song that got radio or MTV play that wasn’t Wonderwall. You literally can’t.Oasis were utterly dwarfed by every metric by every other global band in the Nineties, especially Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, both of whom outsold Oasis in their home country. They certainly had a one flash-in-the-pan hit in the US, the same way fucking Chumbawamba or OMC did, but they are just not an important, relevant or meaningful band. They were a mediocre pop band of no lasting import.Even in the UK, look at how many contemporary bands use Strats instead of Les Pauls. There is not a single person in the world who picked up a guitar and started a band because of Oasis.
