>>129032244travis barker said in an interview that he was told by other music label executives that his work with MGK was "cool" but they hated that he wasn't necessarily a fresh face in the industry that they could mold to their liking and promote rock the way they wanted which is what in part inspired the single "papercuts" on mhks second pop punk album. Specifically the line "they wanted THEM...but they got us" speaking on the music industry not really being happy with mhks success and at some points going against MGk in hopes of propping up other artists with expectations of mainstream success like milie cyrus when she did her rock album and yungblud. None of them came close to the #s ngk put up. Mgk had a 3 or 4 year run and to be honest it was kind of nice seeing the industry seethe at his success. But now we have the industry darling youngblud ready to officially take the industry approved mantle of new rock savior. Yaaaaaaaay...
>>129029718>NO! Shoot it AGAIN! >And this time I want to see some nostril!

Verse 2: Billy Corgan]We could catch a spaceship to the moonBut we'd crash, it wouldn't lastBecause the world is just a figment of the foolsA blank stare, they don't careSo, say your prayers, you're almost thereBut it's running out, it's running out[Chorus: YUNGBLUD & Billy Corgan]Oh, I know that I can't live without youBut this world will keep turning if you doWould you even want me looking like a zombie?Would you even want me, want me, want me?Would you even want me looking like a zombie?Would you even want me, want me, want me?Oh, I don't know what I'll turn out to beBut you'll love every moment, believe meWould you even want me looking like a zombie?Would you even want me, want me, want me?Kurt Cobain is laughing in his grave.
>>129032892that papercuts song in its entirety is kind of a big middle finger to the music industry including travis which is kind of based when watching the behind-the-scenes video of them recording it. You get MGK throwing in a seemingly random adlib after the first verse that makes absolutely no sense and travis's engineer tells him multiple times that it doesn't make sense to use that adlib but mgk demands he uses it because it makes perfect sense. The adlib was "career suicide!" I had a lot of gripes with that 2nd album but after watching all the behind-the-scenes vids of the recording sessions and after what travis said about the industry not liking his work I see why the album has so many flaws because it was done with purpose. And it still sold 100k and went #1 first week.
My beautiful billy
