If your tastes are refined enough and you have a basic understanding of what makes a song work, then it shouldn't be difficult at all to make ''good'' music, even if you've never learned any instruments and have only started playing at age 45. Hell, you don't even have to write a good song as much as you need to appeal to a specific aesthetic sensibility. Most music is basically programmed rather than played these days anyway.
tell that to this guy
>>129039872He fails at the very first point, which is having refined tastes. He genuinely doesn't get it.

youre right, older artists that clearly knew their craft have NEVER EVEN ONCE put out a horrendous stinker so bad it makes you question what happened, let alone runs of shit that killed any enthusiasm. It certainly isnt a trend widespread across all genres and time and knows no bounds haha.
>>129040641jej they just didn't know what to do after their main songwriters left
>>129039850>I V IV vi>basic backbeat>bass playing root 8ths>repeat 4 times for verse>don't need no fucking chorus>II VI bridge
This is true!
>>129039850Knowing what is good music is easyMaking good music is harderIt's pretty much the P=NP problem but for art
>>129039850Sounds like a retard who would make bad music. You CAN make something good if you don't know theory and can't play an instrument that well. Just having 'refined taste' does fuck all though.Seen and known plenty of hot socialite fuckwits that listen to good shit - make absolute trash and go nowhere with it. No time or effort and no understanding of what they're trying to say or do. Nothing good comes easy.
