haven't heard anyone talk of this in a long time. mostly developed around a posh isolation which unfortunately closed down here recently and mayhem the 'venue' which also functioned as rehearsal rooms for a lot of the bands.
i really think most of the output is brilliant. Puce mary, iceage, vår and some of the early lfy.
Loke Rahbek of course the most prolific musician of the scene was just all around really productive and just made a lot of great, inspiring music.
i really think its strange that such an abrasive and esoteric scene would develop out of copenhagen and most of them were in high school. a lot of precocius young people. i really think its very fascinating and i think about it often.
it has really impacted the scandinavian scene we see today as well. all the cph+, conservatory art music coming out is like a mix of world music and this scene. fine, smerz and such

the mayhem scene was full of rich kids larping as anti-culture, iceage was a prime example, holy shit an insufferable pretentious bunch. ask anyone from det fri from that period. if anything it started a trend of bland pseudo-intellectualism.
