I used to be a total melomaniac and I was obsessed with it since I was 14. I used to listen to several albums a day for years religiously, finish listening entire discographies, collecting favorite artists (now I have a 8TB of music), browse blogspots, torrent trackers, soulseek. But recently something has switched in my brain and listening to anything doesn't give me that ecstasis I used to feel. I have no idea what caused it, is this a sign of depression or some sort of chemical imbalance or even brain damage, is this condition permanent or reversible, I got used to silence and don't even have the mood to turn on the music player.

>>129051212well pass down your knowledge, what's the best shit there is?
>>129051212you're supposed to make your own music at this point
>>129051274Depends on your taste, but I can definitely tell that my favorite music comes from european countries. I like extreme stuff like death/black metal/grind and countries like Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland seem to be the most proficient in these genres. Germany and UK excels at making eletronic music (Netherlands is also famous for gabber/hardcore). For instance are cool labels specializing in experimental music such as Mille Plateaux, Mego or Sub Rosa. You also need to look for Various Artists releases, these often contain a set of similar artists. >>129051280I do play guitar, but I feel kinda down lately.
>>129051212Same thing happened to me but with anime and manga. It really sucks, and I've got no clue how to fix it. My best advice for you, and what I'm doing right now is just waiting, hoping that I naturally get back into it and start enjoying it again. If there's some shortcut I could take, I'd like to know.
>>129051212do you actually listen to most of ALL that music you have storaged or is it just for the sake of "owning it" and feel as if you have something?seems like hoarding honestly, i don't think that's enjoyable at that point

>>129051212Most people listen to music spatially narrow and temporally broad by default. Just switch. Try to listen spatially broad and temporally narrow. It's like a whole new medium.

>>129051212You'r growing up. You were a kid and now you'r less of it every day. It was something you did religiously and it gave you estatic feeling? That's what must change. You can't and shouldn't indulge in it like that forever. It's an art form get some respect for the new and different, the enjoyment is in the aesthetic experience. Not how much you indulge or identify with the culture. Thats shit
