Do intro tracks or skits count? Demon Days' builds hype but it's the weakest track by far.

It's technically the weakest track, but mostly because the album is mostly solid and classic. It's otherwise a great song, if it were on "The Now Now" it'd look a lot better.

I almost didn't listen to the rest after hearing "Bird, Enemy, Car", but I'm glad I did.

most albums that start with an intro song
most of the times is nothing
they exist to add more suspense before the next song starts, but usually it fails at that
>>
As far as I'm concerned, the album starts with THIS track.

I feel like we can exclude <2-minute intro tracks from OP's question because they can't stand alone. You're only supposed to hear them in the context of the album; you wouldn't put them in a playlist. Even so, as you said
>usually it fails
Yes. Pics related are examples of how to do it right.
>>
>>129053414
albums with the first song being [Intro] with some shitty ambient noise or piano notes
>>
>>129053853
Fuck no

>>129053414
The last two Killing Joke albums. Good albums but Pole Shift and Autonomous Zone are snoozer starts.

DARE's always been my least favorite on that one.

>>129053853
Isn't Escape the usual culprit for that one.

>>129053921
Feiticeira is a weird opener but a based one. It absolutely should be put before a cut like Teenager.
>>
>>129053414
Basically any album that starts with an "Intro" track.

I never liked DARE either. It didn't deserve its popularity that it got. Shaun Ryder is annoying.

I Often Dream of Trains by Robyn Hitchcock comes to mind here. the next track after that one, Sometimes I Wish I Was A Pretty Girl, is the GOAT however

I will not. Thom's hippie ass lyrics on The Numbers takes that spot. Also, as a HTTT chad Burn The Witch was a golden goose.

amazing album but invaders is shit.
>>

Burn the Witch was the only good song on this snoozer.
