People say being a musician is easier than ever but I think it's the opposite.
There's just so much shit getting pumped out DAILY, you just get buried. Also, music kinda became background noise to most people it seems.

i think both of these things are true today, but i wouldn't necessarily say moreso than in the past. a lot of the music getting made today is just. not great. it might be good but there isn't much great stuff online.

i'd also be surprised if more people see music as background now than they did in the past. it's probably about the same, which is the majority of people. i think that's probably a past, present, and future sorta thing
