Nickelback and the rest of post-grunge/buttrock was rock reaching the status of disco; samey and nauseatingly overplayed.My conspiracy theory that probably isn't true but I wouldn't be surprised if it was either, is that this kind of radio rock was manufactured to make people tire of rock, so the industry could do away with bands to cut cost, and some in the industry were probably motivated by rock music being "white" or using that sentiment as excuse for the former.
