For the most part they are reliable until it comes to gigs, they're great guys and this is more a vent than a "I'm kicking them out" post since I'd be fucked without them. Being in a band is fun.

starting a band is a waste of time in 2026 for the reasons you stated. It's hard to find both talented and motivated people. Either move to a big city if you really want to stick with the band route and you'll increase your chances of meeting other peope who take it seriously or go the producer route and make your own songs and find singers to sing for you as a solo artist.

Being in a band is a full-time job. If they're you're actual "band members" and you're in a full-time band that has hopes of doing serious shit, tell them straight and just find people that can dedicate the time to it. If they're your beer buddies and you jam every now and again, it's not that serious.Also, if you're a kid in school, just try to play local shit and talk to people. You'll find enough people to play in a band with who want to do it every day.

I know without a doubt I am one of the better players in my area. I just have not had the time to commit as I've gotten older. It sucks and I wish I could.
