Are there good songs (or whole albums) from Derrick Green era Sepultura? Anything comparable or better than stuff from Max era?
On the album Against specifically.I have a complaint that might be silly and its not really that big an issue in the end. The album cover and back had the japanese themed stuff (masks on the front and traditional painting on the back), so I kinda assumed they'd have more stuff on there. But as far as I can tell the album only has one song with the japanese drummers (or any noticeable japanese influence). Im not sure this is a complaint but the other thing is that I'm not sure if I get the album. It kinda ties into the previous complaint, but I may have listened to it expecting something much different than what I got. The change in singers isn't an issue to me, but I assumed this would be like a sequel to roots. From what I remember, the riffs on here don't really have the same bounce to them that stuff in roots did. It's not really that similar to roots or Chaos AD. Though maybe you could comparea few songs and find similarities in tracks like Dictatorshit or Biotech is godzilla.I don't know what genre the album is. I have no idea what groove metal is supposed to be like. I think I heard people describe it as hardcore influenced, but idk if thats accurate since i dont really listen to much punk or xyz-core.

Machine Messiah, Quadra, Dante XXI and The Mediator Between Head and Hands must be the Heart are all super solid and have, at the minimum, at least three bangers on each. >Anything comparable or better than stuff from Max era?Negative. Absolutely nothing can touch the Max era, literally nothing. Derek Green era is its own thing.
