>>129068397I don't argue that those 2 records are probably the best in their "surf" sound era. But just like the Beatles when they graduated from boyband status. Beach Boys go through their own musical transformation. You can also argue this transformation is just Shizo Brain turning into schizo Brian (fair) but regardless, when they matured, everything afterwards just sound immensely better to me. Brain was better than Paul McCartney in that he was better than just a Pop Songwriter. He was a musical fucking genius (maybe because of the shizo) I miss him so much
